If DOGE is a federal agency, it can’t shield its records from the public. If it’s not an agency, then its tens of millions of dollars in funding weren’t legally allocated and should be returned, some contend.

This is the important part. A LOT of veterans take jobs with the federal government, receive benefits/hospital care (like myself) for disabilities related to service from those veterans working, receive a hiring preference for being a veteran or disabled veteran, which could fall under DEI.
