Oh good, it looks like the amateur aircrash investigators have now moved on to the long term effects of exposure to enriched uranium.

You've got to hand it to the German fans at the Nations League final, 105 minutes in and Cucurella is still being booed every time he touches the ball because of a handball a year ago. Nothing like holding a proper grudge in football.

RB's Futtock's End is on the telly. Wonderful stuff, but should he have had the nerve to do it in B&W?

Well, this Thomas Tuchel England team is an absolute revelation, very difficult to believe he could make it even more tedious or worse than the last bloke but.... You've got to hand it to him.

Adrian & Pablo line up against the West London lot, not a really hard choice of who to support tonight.

Not so long ago Eurovision was so absurd that it was weirdly entertaining, but then people started taking it seriously...

Palace beat City in the FA Cup Final, and there was me thinking it wouldn't be worth watching.... Arf.

In a contest between two horrible football teams I find myself actually hoping for an Arsenal win tonight. I feel a bit dirty now.

Half way round and Rory Mc has a 4 shot lead... Oh my word.

I don't often open up The Other Place these days and now I remember why. Sweet Jesus, it's just a sewer.

Brighton vs Forest, I really couldn't be less arsed

Somebody please give VAR's guide dog and nudge, ta.

Not sure in which view of reality Zorba is a better option than Todibo.

I have a largely irrational dislike of Newcastle Utd, a club with delusions of grandeur and supporters who cannot accept their consistent underperformance. (Perhaps they're just a bit too much like us). A result for West Ham tonight will be a serious statement.

The excellent Clare Teal and a seven piece band live at Cadogan Hall tonight, which is always a good night.

Oh joy, live football on the BBC so we get to 'enjoy' the inanities of Alan Shearer.

England 26 - 25 France Well...

Newcastle v Arsenal, yes I know I'm repeating myself, but in a well-ordered society there would be a mechanism whereby both teams could lose.

An unlucky defeat for West Ham tonight against a top four side & beginning to show signs of organisation, desire, and the sort of commitment we saw from the Moyes teams of a few seasons ago.

Scarles and Zorba coming on, truly the sublime and the ridiculous.

Well, Bowen back, Irving gets a go, and an uninspiring 45 minutes resulting in a 1-0 lead away at Chelsea, I'll settle for that.

Ooh, I wasn't worried, not at all. 🙁

Brilliant from JB, absolute class.

Potter clearly sees Coufal and Cresswell as better centre-back options than Mavropanos, (he may be correct), but West Ham have not managed to find a real one in the window. Tonight we have to deal with Palmer, Madueke & Jackson which should be 'interesting'.

Well, whatever the result it's been refreshing to watch a West Ham side which appeared to actually want to win a game.

Oh for pity's sake, only everyone was offside.

Sound move by Potter, Eddie looked determined to leave the pitch early one way or another.

Oh Lord, I appear to have switched on Dancing on Ice by mistake.

Not for the first time, the generosity of West Ham's midfield is more than a tad irritating.

It's the brilliant Angela Hewitt tonight at The Wigmore. Handel, Haydn, Bach and Brahms can't be a bad kick-off to the year's concerts.

All sorts of problems for West Ham still evident tonight but also clear signs of a more committed attitude without heads going down. How on earth Savage gave Paqueta MoTM is a complete mystery.

Zorba's off but will anyone notice?

West Ham's experienced centre backs are made to loon like rank amateurs yet again, especially by comparison to young Scarles.

Summerville down now... presumably Potter shot a robin over Christmas or something.

And Füllkrug does a hamstring 15 minutes into the Potter era,. Of course he does. ☹️

It will, of course, be the most West Ham thing ever when Potter is announced as the new manager of Everton tomorrow and Sully appoints Rooney.

The ability of West Ham United to make an absolute embarrassment of themselves whilst managing a change of coach is really rather breathtaking.

Oh good God, I'm off Forged In Fire again. #totp

Well, the Lightning Seeds were never the worst and that's a very cool Thunderbird; give it 10 minutes and I'll hate everything and turn this off. #totp

Nippy on The Solent this evening, but a pleasing sunset.

It's New Year's Eve and, in a fairly radical step this Year's movie has stepped out of the black and white world; yep, this year I'll be revelling in the genius of Stubby Kaye in Guys and Dolls. Have a great New Year everyone.
