So far it's been the governors, Mark Cuban, and AOC. That's about it.

When the vibes and numbers align

Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men?

The most consequential aspect of these stories is they're airing on local TV news

Tough but fair

Speak No Evil (2022) is a bleak horror about the dire consequences when people are too polite. Speak No Evil (2024) is an optimistic thriller about a cuckolded husband finding the will to fight. I don't mind that they changed the story's tone and ending but it did seem like a missed opportunity...

Right?? She immediately goes from underdog to juggernaut!

People will remember this, particularly if Pritzker goes on to higher office

Ok, but real talk? The sort of low-engagement persuadable Trump voter you need to flip is not going to sit through a serious policy argument, and would not understand it if they did. “He’s calling himself a king” they can understand. So run with it.

Really enjoyed A Real Pain. I'm surprised more people haven't noted the similarity with Blue Jasmine. Both are about characters grappling with mental illness who spur changes in everyone around them while ending up in exactly the same place they started the film.

It's really interesting to read this because I remember being mystified by the hostility to her character. However, having rewatched Breaking Bad and the Sopranos recently, my own feeling is Skylar has a much more compelling arc than Carmela over the courses of their respective shows.

He should appoint Danielle Sassoon as special prosecutor to continue the case

Per Sam Simon, a similar misunderstanding happened with Homer Simpson

Lots of grumbling about how the White Lotus is becoming formulaic but I still enjoyed the hell out of the first episode

I realize there are more prosaic explanations but I choose to believe he really saw dead people

All the things that actually made us great

Holy shit

Just finished All of Us Strangers and whew... someone's cutting onions

This is how it happened in California post Prop 187

Historians are going to look back at this time period and marvel at how history turned on one powerful man's drug addiction and resulting radicalization

The irony is firing Adams is probably the one thing Kathy Hochul could do that might actually get her reelected
