You are what you eat as well as what you consume. Knowing media bias is like knowing where your food comes from. #thecriticalpoint #socialjustice #mediabias

It's been "planned" for thousands of years. If you want control over people, keep them ignorant and afraid. #thecriticalpoint #socialjustice #boycottproject2025 #boycottrobberbarons #boycottoligarchs #boycottbillionaires #boycottbigbusiness

An image to help practice your breathing. More important than ever nowadays. #thecriticalpoint #meditation

Whatever the future holds, I want to look in the mirror and say I did my part for what was right. #thecriticalpoint #socialjustice #boycottrobberbarons #boycottoligarchs #boycottproject2025 #boycottmillionaires #boycottbillionaires #boycottoligarchy

Unlike other "faiths," there's no such thing as Russian math or Chinese physics. #standupforscience2025 #thecriticalpoint #scienceoverstupidity

Remember this day as when the world finally learned the truth. #thecriticalpoint #socialjustice #boycottrobberbarons #boycottoligarchs #boycottbigbusiness #boycottmaga #boycottmillionaires #boycottbillionaires

I'd rather know the shameful truth than a comforting lie. Hopefully, the spell will finally be broken. #socialjustice #thecriticalpoint

Would you believe that one way to reduce crime in your city is to increase immigrants? Doing your own research to make your own conclusions will make you less easy to fool. #socialjustice #thecriticalpoint #science #crime #truth www.migrationpolicy.org/content/immi...

We've all been conditioned by parents, family, friends, neighborhoods, schools, religions, books, tv, movies, culture, and society as a whole. Understanding most ideas are manufactured is a step towards wisdom and less suffering. #philosophy #peace #meditation #thecriticalpoint

Influence your breathing, which will influence your mind, which will influence your behavior, which will influence others, which will influence the world. #meditation #thecriticalpoint #boycottrobberbarons

It is just as true to say "things happen" as to say "things are allowed to happen". Do what you can, when you can, and where you can. #civildisobedience #criticalpoint #socialjustice #boycottproject2025

#blueocean for #bluesky peeps. Hope you have a peaceful Sunday.

It's so important to keep in mind the source of your information. Part of #criticalthinking is becoming a critical reader/viewer. The information to which you expose your mind is like food to your body. There are no guarantees, but choosing wisely affords less suffering.

I've learned the less you question, the more you can be controlled. The more you question, the more freedom and options you will have. #questioneverything

Happy Chinese New Year! For the year of the wood snake, may our actions bring #peace #compassion and #positivechange. #lunarnewyear #chinesenewyear #meditation

Imagine you woke up on a tropical island where no one knew who you were. You could reinvent yourself and no one would know. If you wanted to #improve something about yourself you could start right away. Well you don't need the island. You could start today right where you are. #hope #nevertoolate

#positivechange often comes at #criticalpoint s in time. We have more control and influence over our responses vs the #crisis itself. Indeed, positive #socialchange often comes after a social crisis. Only our actions will determine what comes next.

Why learn about #criticalthinking? How we think affects how we behave. The more effective your #thinking, the more effective your #behavior, and the more persuasive you'll be. This will aid tremendously in spreading ideas that #reducesuffering. youtube.com/playlist?lis...

#Meditation can start with just 10 min a day. Sit still and just focus on slowing your breath. Over time, it will become a skill to be used whenever you need it. It's never too late to start a new ability.

Requiring good evidence before believing in something is a good way to increase happiness because you will be less likely to be fooled. Learn as many true things as possible. How do you start? Look at Nature. Observe what's happening and learn as much as possible. #science #truth #happiness #nature

Are you working on inner-peace? One path is to realize we've all been conditioned to be "a success." This is largely an illusion. My definition of success is related to relieving the suffering of others; even if it's just being kind. What helps you to find peace? #peace #meditation #philosophy

Meditation can be a practical skill. It can be the practice of staying calm and thinking clearly, which Bruce Lee apparently once said is a superpower. #criticalthinking #meditation #mindfulness #staycalm #neuroscience #meditate #nature #science #reason #logic

Imagine you discover something you've believed for a long time is actually not true, causeing great suffering. One of the best skills to develop is the ability to not be fooled. Critical thinking skills can be a buffer against suffering and lead to a happier life. #criticalthinking #reason #logic

Neurologically speaking, relationships help us to autoregulate our nervous system. That's why it can literally be painful when a loved one dies. Living a well-rounded life of healthy relationships and meaningful activities can help the healing when bad things happen. #science #neuroscience

It's possible to be rational like a scientist and create like an artist. Nature's been doing that since the beginning of time. #science #nature #rationality #reason #art

One of the hardest things to do is to get people to question WHY they believe the things they do; especially if it's part of their identity. Be curious. Be compassionate. Be sincere. Be the one they ask for next time. #openminded

What if we could start society over? What kind of a world would we want? What kind of a day, week, month, year, life would we want? Isn't that life possible? #socialjustice

Experts are predicting an improved economy, and I'm sure they're right. But improved for whom? What if the economy was evaluated by counter-balancing every person who has more than they need with every person who doesn't have enough? Would the predictions still be positive? #socialjustice

Here's to those happy to leave 2024 behind! Let's make sure we spread reason, critical thinking, and compassion in 2025. #criticalthinking #reason #compassion

"Supernatural" just means "currently not understood". If we can see/hear it that means it's acting in the natural world. We might not understand new experiences; that doesn't mean it's supernatural. Have you ever experienced something "supernatural"? I have. Reply with your experience please!

How can reason help us to determine the truth? First, believe something only after good, sufficient evidence; not before. Then as Carl Sagan famously put, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". Be suspicious of someone who claims to have all the answers; unless it's a math test.

Trouble making decisions? Try Value-based decision making. Step 1. Identify core values/principles, e.g. compassion, truth, honor, health. These can evolve as you do. Step 2. Consider which decisions are more aligned with your core values. Value-based decisions lead to a more harmonious life.

The only explanation needed is Nature. All human and non-human imagination, creativity, morality and compassion is the result of Nature. Peace to you all my friends!
