We’re now on BlueSky! If you’re interested in #cyberpsychology, give the official British Psychological Society Cyberpsychology Section a follow 😊⬇️

Applications for this funded PhD with me at @northumbriauni.bsky.social close tomorrow. If you have an idea around Cybersecurity, AI & Mental Health which includes a strong human factors element (attitudes, trust etc), there's still time to apply. Details here: www.findaphd.com/phds/project...

How true 😂

We’ve all heard about the promise of Generative AI for research assistance. But just how helpful might it be? My NORC colleagues are examining several use cases. This article summarizes their intriguing findings for one scenario - the effect on data quality and user experience in web surveys

Passionate about #eatingdisorder research and looking for a #PhD? I have a self-funded PhD available looking at the multifaceted impact of technology for eating disorders. Lots of scope to shape it to suit your own interests in this area 😊 #cyberpsychology www.findaphd.com/phds/project...

I haven’t read this but it looks like a good resource for PhD students 😊

Recently spent a wonderful week in Wales. We hiked up Snowdon on my birthday and took the campervan down the North-West coast. Everywhere we visited was stunning. What a truly beautiful part of the world. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #wales #campervan #hiking

Good points raised in this thread. Colleagues & I published a meta-analysis highlighting the lack of current evidence (researchportal.northumbria.ac.uk/en/publicati...). Social media has potential for good & bad - as with many things in life! Censorship/banning is rarely the answer. #cyberpsychology

More public service media? "The role of PSM should be expanded beyond the core tasks of high-quality, diverse and impartial reporting. PSM should increasingly also act as institutions that monitor social media, evaluate, and validate external information" journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

Just made the ‘jump’ to bluesky so here’s a thread of my research interests. I’m a cyberpsychologist with some social & health psych in the mix! I find too many things interesting (🙈) so I have wide range of interests including health tech, eating disorders, AI, social media & cybersecurity…

It's been really heartening working with @dezuanni.bsky.social, @aleeshajoy.bsky.social and Amanda Levido to produce the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child's response to the Social Media Ban for Under16s Bill that was tabled yesterday. digitalchild.org.au/research/pub...

I created a cyberpsychology / media effects etc starter pack from my following list - please let me know if there’s anyone I’ve missed or if you would like to be added! #Cyberpsychlogy go.bsky.app/HkdeCxF

Continuing the search for an alternative to X, as it continues its downward trajectory! This seems to be one of the more popular options? Would love to reconnect with friends who have also made the move & make new connections (interests: cyberpsychology, tech, health, eating disorders, AI) 👋🏼
