It’s National Take Your Dog For a Walk day, so we went to Billy’s favourite, Silverwood Park.

This is what social media should be about, finding others that inspire you, not ads and algorithms. This morning I discovered the work of Guy Dickinson, @tracing-silence.bsky.social, thanks to @lswalker.co.uk. I love this work, and I love those books.

Hut, Georgia.

Playing with the beta of @flashes.blue and also @pinksky.app. Both are really nice, and it's incredible how much like Instagram Pinksky is. Less the ads, and the algorithms, and Zuckerberg...

Brighton, UK.

Testing the beta of @flashes.blue.

Instagram is as good as dead for me, so I’ll be deactivating my accounts in the next few days. I just can’t bring myself to delete them completely yet. Looking forward to seeing what @flashesapp.bsky.social can do as a replacement.

I'm trying to keep my personal photography and studio commissions separate here on Bluesky. You can follow my studio work at @keithtaylorstudio.bsky.social. Over there you'll see the prints and clamshell cases I make for photographers and artists, and info about any workshops I'll be teaching.

Playing with light. It’s what photography’s all about.

5 days without heat, but we now have a new boiler and heating! Boiler art.

Lift bridge and frozen river, Stillwater, MN

The Leaning Tower of Niles, Illinois. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaning_Tower_of_Niles

The coldest few days of the year so far, with a windchill of -20F, and we apparently have need for a new boiler. What a bad day in many ways.

Mountain goat, Badlands, SD

“Temple of Apollo, Greece”. Platinum-palladium print, Mamiya 6, Delta 400 processed in PMK pyro.

This is a great website and resource for those confident enough to attempt repairs on their cameras. www.learncamerarepair.com

I know that many of you are ditching Meta platforms including Insta. Can I suggest you look at @refrakt.app ? It’s not an app. It’s built by a photographer for photographers. It displays your work beautifully. It’s free. It’s such a nice contemplative space. Give it a go.
