"What To Make of the Election Spend-a-thon?" πŸ€‘πŸ§ Pretty interesting discussion between Chris Richardson & PvO on everything from the cost of living to housing prices during this election, not to mention some not-so-subtle digs at NIMBYS and Politicians who fail to think big... Worth a listen.

As The Whitlam's song goes... "You've gotta love this city".... 😍 Sydney Harbour at its finest from Watson's Bay Wharf...

Arguable that Donald Trump can be now known as "The Big Taxer", because the tax rate on everyday Americans is now the highest it's ever been. Consumers always have to shoulder the costs of tariffs, and cost of living pressures are going to skyrocket in the US due to this utter madness.

Nice one, @barryglendenning.bsky.social. I'll join you & train to be fit to run a Half-Marathon for a Kids charity in Australia too. Will you join us in running & help sick kids @maxrushden.bsky.social? Let's use the power of Football for good. cc @niavowens.bsky.social @simonhill1894.bsky.social

Credit where credit is due to the Sydney Morning Herald... πŸ‘ "Darth Orange" to describe Trump and his foolish tariffs? Well... It does rhyme with "Daft Orange", I suppose.... 😏 www.smh.com.au/money/planni...

So Elon Musk is playing Path of Exile 2 again, @eliothiggins.bsky.social? πŸ€” Didn't he get mocked & ratio'd by the Assassin's Creed official Twitter account in relation to that recently? πŸ”₯😏

"I don't share his rapture with tariffs as an economic (tool), and not many people who've seriously studied the progress of the world over the last 40 or 50 years do." "You don't save jobs by introducing tariffs." Scathing criticism of #Trump from former Australian Prime Minister, John Howard.

This is pretty spot on, plus it's one of the reasons why General Motors mostly removed themselves from Australia a few years ago by shutting down Holden. They can't compete on quality & therefore aren't economic. Tesla is now hitting similar headwinds in Australia too, on top of Musk's politics.

When you wake up in the morning and the first thing you come across is @alastaircampbell2.bsky.social looking this glum... I'm feeling very hesitant to look at how things went in the US overnight... At least before I have coffee & a morning walk anyway. πŸ«£β˜• @therestpolitics.bsky.social #Trump

@carlquintanilla.bsky.social "It's a long way to Tipperary"? Jim Cramer attempting to sing wasn't on my bingo card for 2025!! 😏 #Trump #Tariffs #SqwarkBox

Australia v South Korea: women’s international football friendly – live

"This is a man who says he is not for turning" Few people have as succinct a way with words as my friend Hugh Riminton. It's a play on one of Thatcher's speeches, which her speechwriter borrowed from Christopher Fry's 1948 comedy on a witch-hunt, "The Lady's not for burning." Buckle up! πŸ”₯πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ #Trump

Interesting to hear Dutton say he gave a heads-up to the Chinese embassy of his decision to take back the Port of Darwin. I'm old enough to remember the 2022 election campaign - with the "Manchurian candidate" rhetoric - when he criticised Marles for sending the embassy a speech in advance #auspol

Formerly incarcerated Trans people often struggle when re-joining society & programs like this can make a huge difference in their lives, while reducing recidivism rates significantly. Similar projects in Australia have been around for decades & are effective. Best of luck, @tsmadison.bsky.social.

This is an issue that BBC News needs to address, particularly @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social. I've done a lot of work improving the professionalism of 10 News First's LGBTI+ coverage which showed during the 2022 Australian Election. 5 in UK benefited from that work too. Crucial for accuracy & balance.
