The AAR regretfully shares that former AAR president Martin E. Marty passed away on February 25, 2025. His contributions to the public understanding of religion are vast and we celebrate them each year with our Marty Award. Read more about his legacy: www.legacy.com/us/obituarie...

i was tentatively asked to teach Greek over the summer, too. if that class makes, it’ll be 14 classes in a calendar year.

By the end of this calendar year, I'll have taught 12 college- and graduate-level courses, and I'll have re-written one for our online division and totally generated another for our graduate online division.

PUBLICATION DAY! well, sorta. i forgot to post when my JSJ article was published, but it's now available online (open access). i'm really proud of this one. it's my best attempt to show why εἴδωλον shouldn't be transliterated "idol" but translated "image" in early jewish texts, incl. LXX and NT.
