Much needed rest. Fresh air and so much exercise. And now, screens. All things in balance, I suppose. Definitely not grumpy. #AmEditing

Nothing warms my heart like referrals from clients I worked with years ago. All the warm fuzzies over here. #Editor

When they offer you a byline, internship credits, ask you to work for free, or my new favorite: “I talked to your boss. He said you’d do it for a discount.” #AmEditing #Editor #SayItWithBirds #Birds

Freelance friends, let's chat about ads for freelance jobs. Do you expect the project rate to be in the ad? Or, to learn rates after applying? Since this is a public social media feed, your answers may be used in an article I'm writing. Thank you!😊

Sorry, I’m a little behind. There is a lot more sports here than when I first joined, which I love. I’m heartened by the growing numbers of field-specific journalists here now as well. Hoping some of their imprints/companies/orgs join. #FreelanceFriends

This was utterly delightful! Highly recommend. Thank you @scalzi.com! 💙📚

How do people reach adulthood without knowing basic traffic rules, like what to do at a four-way stop?

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you don’t have to: • “update your wardrobe” every season • add accessories to “style” your outfits • change your style to avoid looking “like a millennial” These rules exist to sell you things you don’t need. If you like your clothes, wear them.

@amylhampton.bsky.social I debated whether to add an egg to my lunch just now and thought about what you said. Cannot stop laughing (verdict: “egg worthy” 😃).

Anyone else hearing Jeff Goldblum? 👀 www.wired.com/story/scient...

"We offer legendary customer service." Ah, yes. Sir Cuthbert and the caller on hold. Around campfires, people still sing of the day when Cuthbert used his mighty red button to release a caller from the waiting queue and said, "How my I direct your call?"

Oh, this Monday…

I just ran out of Post-it flags. Pretty sure it’s time to call it a day. #AmEditing

Grateful both to have found and be able to afford eggs. Then, cue the soapbox, because it shouldn’t be a privilege to buy eggs.

You know when you’re feeling older than your years, worried about myriad things, and you get the mail? And in the mail, there’s an invitation from a local funeral home to a dinner meeting, stating now is the time to plan for your death? With lots of exclamation points, and a QR code? Check please.

If you see this, quote post with a beach photo from your gallery.

Does this count 🤣? No cheating: Your last saved celebrity pic is your therapist.

The best thing I ever learned as a freelancer was that you can negotiate with recruiters. Apologies to the ones who contact me and are unaware I know this. #Editor
