'Every Teacher is a Teacher of SEND' is one of our SDP priorities this year. I've got these dates in the diary and are looking forward to them @marymyatt.bsky.social

1/ Part of yesterday’s INSET was all about co-teaching approaches—we used the images below from recent SEND training by Surrey to spark great discussions! Teams shared what they already use, explored new ideas, and thought about where & when to try them next.

🎂Today's INSET kicked off with our brilliant AHT & Reading Leader @MissBunyan1, sharing insights from @suchmo83.bsky.social’s Reading Simplified and recent training! 📖 ✨ We're excited to see these ideas shaping our reading teaching this coming half term and beyond. 🍰 #CPD

Happy Tuesday everyone! Half-term reading list filling up nicely, thanks @saysmiss.bsky.social @mrzachg.bsky.social @brucenextlevel.bsky.social 🫶📚🍰

It's half term, which means I have a copy of Primary Reading Simplified to give away. Simply *repost* this post for your chance to win. I will choose a winner at random this Saturday (22nd February).

A cake a day keeps the doctor away… doesn’t it? 😉 That’s what we think anyway as we start this half term as we mean to go on. How are you switching off, having fun, and recharging this half term? 🍰✨ #WorkLifeBalance

1/ This is our Training and Development room lovingly known as 'The Greenhouse'. There are a range of great CPD books on offer including @walkthrus.bsky.social _5, @teacherhead.bsky.social's Rosenshine's Principles and @marymyatt.bsky.social 's Back on Track.

ECTs and trainee teachers: please can I ask for your help? I want to hear from you about your experience in teaching. What do you love about it? What do you wish you could change? If you’re a teacher who left teaching after their first few years, what pushed you to leave? Pls comment below👇

Spent a lot of yesterday talking with children and helping them find the right book. We talked about what they liked, we laughed, we got excited about books they loved, we explored the library. I believe every child is a reader they just have to find their right book.

It's like choosing your favourite cake; you know you're gonna love it no matter what and it will never disappoint! Thanks, Tom and Oliver!

1/ A few years ago, we created our Monday Briefing Newsletter to cut down on email overload. 📩✨ It quickly became a detailed document —useful, but still too much information! Staff feedback was clear: we needed to do less better. We needed a way to streamline without losing key messages.

🧵 Some brilliant external feedback on our school today – celebrating strengths & considering next steps! Yesterday's visit from a Surrey School Improvement Advisor left us feeling incredibly proud. Their role? To quality-assure all aspects of provision in Surrey schools.

We love books almost as much as we love cake! Check out our new KS2 non-fiction library. Full of carefully curated, well-written and beautifully illustrated texts that help deepen the learning across science, geography and history. Researching new titles to add to this gives me the best joy!

Today's offering in the Educakers' staffroom has taken a turn...🫤

1. At our school we're passionate about teacher recruitment and training. We have been part of the SCITT programme for over 10 years now. Many of the teachers in our school, we have trained and then employed.

Last Easter, we read 'Curious Curriculum' and used it to guide our curriculum work for the coming year. In this week's staff meeting, subject leaders will be thinking together about how they can improve practice and use their role to "influence positively".

Happy Monday everyone! Not only do we love cake, but we love a good coffee too. For the past year, @SUP have been with us after school selling coffees and cake with 10% of their sales coming back to the school. It's a real weekly treat!

The start of a new year is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and trim the excess. We’re sticking to the mantra: ‘Do Less Better.’ It’s not about more, but focusing on what matters—impact. Have a read of our next blog inspired by the great @marymyatt.bsky.social @adamboxereducation.bsky.social

Not only do we love cake 🍰 but we also love books 📖 We'll share some of our favourite Christmas books over this final week of term to get us all in the Christmas Spirit. What are your favourite Christmas books? We'd love to hear about them.

Thanks @teachertapp.bsky.social for making our blog today's daily read. Have a read here if you haven't already. open.substack.com/pub/theeduca...

It's time for a Christmas puzzle on the staff room table. We quite often have a puzzle out or a game of scrabble on the go that anyone can dip into when they're sat in the staff room or even just passing through. #itsthelittlethings

Had a conversation today about the difference between "kindness" & "niceness" in leadership so decided to post about it. The article & graphic explain why, as leaders, we should choose kindness over niceness: lnkd.in/e6FfD8eQ. By Emmanuel Barrera. Graphic: @justin-mecham.bsky.social via Dan Grimes

Here’s a tasty treat of interesting reads covering a wide range of topical issues. All relevant to primary leadership. Something for everyone - enjoy! 🍰

@suchmo83.bsky.social what a generous offer. Chris' book is definitely worth a read to anyone who teaches reading.

Here's our first blog post; we hope you like it. 🍰 School Culture: Add-on or Authentic? open.substack.com/pub/theeduca...
