This silence on the judgement is a valid thing to raise about the Scottish Labour MSPs. But it's also a valid thing to raise about the SNP's own Equalities Minister, Kaukab Stewart MSP - who likewise commented on Easter... but not on the judgement last week. www.thenational.scot/news/2510460...

I think a woman who posts photos of herself smoking a cigar and drinking fizz, whose fans post AI art of her as Jesus of the Sacred Heart without her disapproving of it, probably shouldn't accuse people who disagree with her of being narcissists?

Fucking pathetic. The thing about the GCs is that they want to be hailed as great feminist heroes. They want to be petty and cruel and direct all their vicious bigotry and disgust at a tiny maligned demographic, with the backing of all the highest powers in the land, and be adored for it.

I’m offering up 3 signed copies of Tiffany Aching’s Guide to Being a Witch (co-written with @gabriellekent.bsky.social) in an auction raising money for trans rights in the UK and SA. You can bid for them here. www.32auctions.com/organization...

This from my friend Frankie Green is very good. I'm proud to have known her ever since GLF days. whitstableviews.com/2025/04/21/n...

The simple thing is: when your ideology is at its core a rejection of integrity--both ethical and intellectual--academia *can* only be "ideologically homogenous" in terms of being averse to that. "The university is a hostile environment for my egoistic self-delusion!" Yes, ya dick. That's its point.

I'm mailing postcards with favorite recipes on them (signed, obv). Please bid on stuff you're interested in; all proceeds go to two charities for trans rights

An actual feminist issue worthy of attention. Both women's health and trans people's health is being underfunded on the Scottish NHS, with important treatments becoming functionally non-existent due to chronic underfunding. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

News $200 Analysis $150 #BuyAPaper $800 Whipping up fear and hatred $300,600 New talent $150 someone who is good at the journalism please help me budget this. my paper is dying

There’s a signed copy of The Incandescent up for grabs here, along with a lot of other cool stuff!

Thinking some more about the Hodge judgement and 'immutable binary biological sex'. Clearly at the time of Corbett vs. Corbett part of Ormerod's judgement against April Ashley was based on that. She was referred to as 'an accomplished female impersonator' for example and her marriage as voidable.

Coverage of the huge trans rights rallies in Scotland this weekend brought by @scotnational.bsky.social, the only Scottish paper even pretending to represent both sides, and linked by @edinburghminute.bsky.social - which places value on actually reporting news. www.thenational.scot/news/2510261...

Funny how "damage" to statues always makes the news. Funny how the police always give so much of a fuck about statues.

nothing on BBC news about this supposed "trans rights rally in London" surely if it happened we'd have heard about it on the BBC! maybe the statues just did this to their own plinths in support of trans rights?

Realistically, a predatory man could enter a public toilet unchallenged by acquiring overalls, a mop, bucket, and a plastic 'Caution Wet Floor' sign. Making life harder for trans people and many others with restrictions which will be impossible to enforce will do nothing to make any women safer.

god I don't know why this is so much of our current world in a nutshell. x is worried about going to prison, y is worried about having their feelings hurt. These things are equal for some reason.

it's not how the NYT mean it, obviously, but "supporters of a ban consider trans athletes to be possibly perverts" is a pretty strong vindication of the supporters of inclusion viewing them as bigots

It's not just transphobes against trans people (though they are their target), it's transphobes against all women and LGBTQ+ people. The question is only who will realise it first and stand up to be counted. Young queer women will always be the ones who'll lead that.

🟢 Supreme court judgement: Another victory for authoritarians and oligarchs 🟢 Huge thanks to Glasgow Councillor @theelaineg.bsky.social for writing for Green Left Scotland today on last week's Supreme Court judgement. @glasgowgreens.bsky.social

F#ck, yeah! The world is revolting, and that's the best thing possible.

A reminder to @easterconuk.bsky.social attendees that the lovely people at @bonabooks.bsky.social are running a tombola in aid of the trans charity, Not A Phase. There are still plenty of prizes left. Back right in the Dealers’ Room.

another beautiful piece which complains about people ignoring women then proceeds, seamlessly, to entirely ignore the cis women who support trans rights www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

Quite aside from the TERF take on what being a woman is all about, where trans women do have kids to raise (and many do), the TERFs are busy yelling at social services to have those kids taken into care. They literally do not want us to be allowed to do anything they think women should do.

@amalelmohtar.com is in Glasgow on Friday 25th, being interviewed by @neilwilliamson.bsky.social There are still tickets. You know what to do.

Pity that's not how the judgement is phrased, Maya. Now anyone who looks like a man can wander into a women's space and legally claim to be there because they're transmasc. Congratulations, the predatory cis men you imagined might wear a skirt to get in now have even less of a barrier.

If even Edinburgh can muster such a positive and energised turnout at very short notice, it definitely feels like the Supreme Court is not speaking for the people of the UK. #transrightsarehumanrights

still not a fuckin peep of this on the BBC News site

Nothing has more clearly demonstrated the anti-trans bias of Scottish media than this week. Article after article run to promote the narrative of the anti-trans movement. How many to note the thousands who turned out to protest in support of trans rights? None. Shameful, brazen.

So many people that even The Guardian had to admit that it happened

Really excited to be interviewing Amal in Glasgow on Friday. You all should come along and say hi!

Everyone now and again I will see someone use the phrase "woke mind virus" seriously and I will wonder what it is like to be them, and to have a head full of rancid pudding where a brain is meant to be

Both the Herald and the Scotsman are running headline articles praising the decision this week. No counter, no nuance, no mention of the rallies yesterday. Why? Because this isn't journalism. It's a victory for the political project their editors have been dedicated to for years. It's their win.

I think I did the best performance of "Agendas" that I ever have. How do you stop from crying into the mic? Scream.

Trans People Make Glasgow 🏳️‍⚧️ It was fantastic seeing @scottishgreens.org women like @irisduane.bsky.social , @theelaineg.bsky.social , & @hollybruce.bsky.social speak proudly in solidarity today in George Square - which we will continue to do today & always ✊️💚

Excellent thread here--starting a little bit before.
