Average NFL third down conversion percentage in 3rd and 5 is 46%. In 3rd and 7, that drops all the way down to 36%. It's okay to draft run stoppers that get you into 3rd and 7 instead of 3rd and 5. Even if they don't get the sacks themselves, they help your pass rush.
