Not that this matters in the grand scheme of how screwed we are going to be financially in this "transition", but not counting a 17 year old as a dependent when they are still living at home for the entirety of that year is wild. They still eat. THEY EAT A LOT. And want money for all the things.

I'm starting to understand why the transcendentalists are so big on self-reliance as I watch this new govt form, but I feel that the focus should be on mutual aid and community instead. As the govt froze payments and we didn't know what would happen next, I thought, no one is starving on my watch.

Bishop Mariann Budde wrote a book entitled “How We Learn To Be Brave”, published in May 2023. I went to buy it today and it is sold out in local bookstores! I will not purchase it from Amazon so I’ll put myself on a wait list and get it when it’s back in stock, but WOW, do I love this for her!

Maybe it is no accident that a president's swearing in and MLK day both fell on the same day. His spirit is with us today, reminding us, against the cacophony of chaos, of what matters.
