As a mental exercise, I encourage people to take the President's statement about dolls and pencils and replace "baby girl" with petulant billionaire, "dolls" with luxury resorts, and "pencils" with gold decor items...seriously, the idea of a billionaire selling the virtue of austerity is absurd.

I think there's a very substantial portion of Republican base voters who are so gaslit that they'd agree they deserved to lose their jobs if their party leaders told them so. And an even bigger contingent who are just nihilistic they'll still vote Republican no matter what they believe.

I hope SpaceX fails so catastrophically at this mission that the company collapses. It's much better they fail now before they get to the point where they're killing their private astronauts in droves. If SpaceX collapses, I think the nation will abandon space colonization as a goal. 👍

First of all, there's no such thing as a "direct, inverse correlation" collocations are either direct (i.e., when one factor increases, so does the other in some proportion) OR inverse (i.e. when one factor increases, the other decreases). It's mathematically impossible for a correlation to be both.
