It's always been crazy to me that people consider a 6 or a 7 out of 10 as an indication that a game is bad. Certain corners of the gaming space expecting nothing less than perfection is one of the major things contributing to toxic negativity amongst the community. We need to do better.

In videogames, picking up stuff to read and listening to audio logs isn't "bad" storytelling. It's supplementary info/worldbuilding and sometimes just meant to be fun. A metric ton of dialogue doesn't always make great narrative make but fleshes out the kind of world you're in. There's cines too.
