Erotic Thriller Sundays? I need to workshop a better name. Sexy Murder Movie Sundays? That’s worse. Now watching Sunset After Dark (1996), a Monique Parent special. This very much has the feel of a Cinemax movie, but it starts with someone being bludgeoned to death, so we have high hopes 📽️

Went to my favourite Thai place with a couple friends tonight and they were playing Christmas music

The best part about Pieces (1982) is when the sewn together corpse falls on the kid, you can see the actress playing the corpse trying to hold back a smile 📽️ #horrorsky

Felt like watching an old fashioned Hollywood epic, so now watching King Vidor’s Solomon and Sheba (1959). I think this is my first Yul Brynner with hair movie 📽️ #filmsky

Working in vet medicine is great. Getting a free dinner to look at pictures of skin conditions

Another probably won’t finish before bed movie, but starting Uncaged aka Angel in Red (1991), about LA prostitutes working for Sharkey, played by a very young Jeffrey Dean Morgan 📽️

Now watching Matthew Rankin’s charming first feature The Twentieth Century (2019). Definitely more directly influenced by Maddin than Universal Language, but a beautiful, hilarious film. Sean Cullen as the Governor General is a stand out 📽️ #filmsky

One weird thing about me is that I find the idea of freezing bread to defrost and eat later disgusting. So if I feel like having a sandwich, I have to be prepared to eat nothing but sandwiches for a week, to use up the loaf before it spoils

A movie where Leif Garrett plays half of an incestuous brother and sister duo that picks up men on phone sex lines and murders them? That movie exists, it’s Party Line (1988). I avoided this one for a bit because I thought it was then Debbie Harry phone sex killer movie I’ve already seen 📽️

Been enjoying Thirst (1979), horror with a sci-fi bent. The last descendant of Elizabeth Bathory is abducted by a shadowy group that farms humans for their blood, thinking it gives them youth and power. Most of the film is about them trying to break her down to accept and join them 📽️ #filmsky

What a beautiful, melancholy, hilarious film. A film in Farsi completely distilling the spirit of Winnipeg

Watching Autopsy (1975) aka The Victim. 20 minutes in and there’s already been some great gore. A nice way to wind down the day 📽️ #horrorsky
