I was Hodorific back on the Xitter but that name was taken over here. Here's hoping this place has fewer Nazis than the old one...

After playing a fictional member of the Resistance a long time ago, I never could have imagined it ever happening in real life, but here we are.

Currently appearing at UK bus-stops. More of this pointed ridicule, please.

The moment is so big, and our leaders are so small.

It's pretty clear now that this goes far beyond racism and misogyny. They are at war with the very concept of acceptance. Comply with their commands, conform to their arbitrary and ever shifting standards, or be reviled and ultimately destroyed.

I owe the television part of my career to @joyannreid.bsky.social, as do so many other Black voices y'all never would have heard of if not for her. And *that's* why she's gone. They can treat black folks as interchangeable, but everybody Black knows that Joy was indispensable.

Worst. Episode. EVER.

A. Book. Tour.

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.

There are many ways Trump could trigger a global collapse. Here’s how to survive if that happens | George Monbiot

It's February 2025: The South has been declared the winner of the American Civil War, and The revenant of the Soviet Union the winner of the Cold War. What an absolutely cursed timeline.

NEW: The Washington Post has pulled out of an agreement to run an ad in its newspaper criticising Elon Musk. This is despite signing an agreement to publish it. Democracy dies in darkness. Here is the ad. Let’s share it far and wide! Screw the Post.

“A senior diplomat said: ‘It’s very clear now, Europe is alone.’ When I asked him if he now regarded the US as an adversary, he replied: ‘Yes.’” www.ft.com/content/11f1...

Imagine if the media pointed out there was already a Government Accountability Office whose job it is to go after actual waste and fraud, not just things Elon doesn’t like, and found $70 Billion in savings last year and $2 Trillion in waste since 2003. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governm...

Brought to you by the Ministry of Truth. Coming soon: The Torment Nexus. We are bringing you all your favorites from literature (that we are also banning).

Not only are you allowed to ask, the answer is "Reagan slashed the top tax rates & blew up defense spending, thereby reversing the 30+ year trend of decreasing debt/GDP ratios & every Republican since has found ways to make things even worse."

A government of laws not men, huh?

Hey, is that a giant space hamburger or am I just a bad gastronomer? www.scientificamerican.com/article/jwst... 🧪 🔭

Gotta say, I’m not a big fan of 2 Jim Crow 2 Furious

We have a Saturday night massacre. We have a Benghazi. We have tensions with Canada. The richest man on earth controls the government. We have a new Russiagate. We have a drunk running the military. We have a VP in league with neo-Nazis. Dems: “Keep your powder dry. He’ll screw up any day now.”

The Partition of India displaced 20 million people, killed almost 2 million & created a refugee crisis whose effects are still in play over 70 years later, if you actually think it's a model for anything but massive catastrophe, you should not only not be employed here you should be in a padded cell

If you have two parties, and one party wants ethnic cleansing and eugenics, and the other party wants to cooperate with them and meet in the middle, you have one party that wants ethnic cleansing and eugenics.

Ah yes, it will be super helpful to have "guardrails" to keep the dismantling of our constitutional order and entire system of government on track. So glad they aren't going to let it get out of hand...

They would not proclaim such executive powers for "the president" if they believed President AOC could, in 2029, decide to unilaterally cut the defense budget by hundreds of billions. They are working to neuter free and fair elections. You can bet on it.

The only way I can interpret the GOP's actions is that they are 100% certain they will never face another democratic election again. They hit the shore and burned their ships.

They are wannabe mafiosos and assume business should run like the mob, but the version from some movie they liked. To be clear, FCPA is a huge benefit to US businesses. This will make us less competitive. Also, diving into bribery would potentially get US firms banned in the EU.

Knowing as the lawyer for an international company that our backstop is the FCPA so “we cannot pay your customs agents to get our stuff out of your country” is pretty important for international business.

“We are in the midst of a constitutional crisis right now. There have been so many unconstitutional and illegal actions in the first 18 days of the Trump presidency. We never have seen anything like this.” —Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of University of California, Berkeley law school. Time to stand up:

"I promise, America will soon be the Cybertruck of countries—uglier than you could have imagined, built for rich chuds, borderline inoperable, and on fire."

This is an early leader for dumbest lede of the year. We blew past full blown constitutional crisis in 2021 when zero was done to the coup leadership, then no consequences for him stealing and selling intel, and every minute since Jan 20 has been abject lawlessness. We are a failed state ffs.

Sign me the eff up!

I think it’s important for outlets to stop framing Trump’s actions as “anti-DEI” and describe what they actually are, which is pro-segregation not only do people have an actual negative association with that description, it’s significantly more accurate

I don’t care if babies cry on planes. Planes are unpleasant. I would also like to cry on planes. If a baby cries on a plane, that is not a nuisance. That is simply a relatable baby.

Key history as Trump attempts to abolish the Department of Education: Andrew Johnson established the first Education Department in 1867 but faced backlash from white southerners who saw it as an effort to educate formerly enslaved children. Read more: www.mississippifreepress.org/what-trumps-...

imo this is accurate, but the reason this is so insane is: the mass affluent society is there IN LARGE PART DUE TO THE BUREAUCRACY. It employs people. It generates huge demand for white collar goods and services and creates whole new markets for them. Not even getting into the services it provides!

im not even exaggerating when i tell you i truly do believe my book does a lot to clarify the social agenda, motivations and vast goals of a big swathe of the current admin's people, and their lawlessness. (they see themselves as answering to god's law, not man's.)

Now ys reallye, reallye, reallye not the tyme for Governor Newsom of California to cut the budget 8% for public higher ed in the CSU and UC systemes. California doth neede to keepe the lightes of learninge shininge as brightlye as possible.

Man, we white people would rather burn down the goddamn country than than admit that racism is real.

"you voted for the inefficient nazis instead of us who are actually good at it" just primary all these fucks, theyre literally begging their voters to do a Tea Party on them
