There are too many pressing problems now that too many people aren’t comfortable discussing: climate/collapse, COVID, bird flu, fascism, etc. I get it. I want peace of mind, too. But you can’t grapple with a problem without first facing it.

Zoom invites for today's meeting have been sent out! Remember to check spam folders! Please contact me if you registered but did not receive a link!

People who don't live in the US who are complaining about how much we're posting about the administrative coup and the billionaire tech bro assholes (and their twerp lackeys) who are looting our government: Trust me, we hate it more than you do. It's just kind of an inescapable topic over here.

I gotta say, if not for all these disgusting hate-consumed closed-minded obsessive nightmarish cruel uncaring weirdo shit-for-brains bigots, being trans would be basically the best thing ever

Anyway please buy my trans magical girl novel 🥹 there's more coming your way & the more of you who add my PDX magical girl universe and its fun weird magical girls girls and evil consciousnesses and enby hackers to your lives, the more of you will be enlisted into my army uh I mean fan base

Anti-Indigenous racism in the Canadian medical system is alive & well Flett's severe abdominal pain, which turned out to be acute appendicitis, was assumed to be a hangover theconversation.com/living-to-te...

I am sick of people forgetting that rural people exist and may not have options when it comes to refusing to shop at particular stores. Every grocery store in my Southern NM community gave in to anti DEI BS. The nearest Costco is 4 plus hours away in Northern NM or Texas. Aldi about the same.

This is your friendly reminder that if your disability accommodations aren't being met, or are treated as an inconvenience by your family, then it's time to find a new family.

starting to consider filming my my friends' lives for 24 hours to show the public what disabled people are treated like on a daily basis at work and in the wild not that it will change most people's minds, but perhaps shame some people into treating us like humans

he coulda gone out with a beloved legacy and NOT supporting and enriching the biggest transphobe on the planet who works every day to erase us from existence but instead… this

reminder that registration for the first meeting of trans grief support group closes today at 5pm PST!!

With Joann closing, and it being the most widespread source of garment fabric, we’re gonna need a tutorial on understanding fabric (and thus how to buy it online if there’s no garment fabric near you), huh?

I couldn’t have freelanced without the ready availability of Joann. This is kind of a death rattle for certain kinds of crafts. Most of the independent fabric stores near me either shut down or went specialty, usually quilting. From a costuming perspective, where were you gonna find velvet?

Just a reminder; I immediately unsubscribe from any YouTuber who says they’re excited for the Harry Potter show, and also give side eye to any creator who covers Harry Potter news who does not at least passingly mention JK Rowling’s bigotry.

disturbing uptick in "we post tweets and talk about them." servile behavior tbh. bluesky is not the Greek chorus for the main character action of twitter, that's loser thinking, have some pride. twitter is dead. post bangers. thank you

Dear internet, I have survived another week while the horrors persist. My whimsy reserves are running low and I must soon collect more.

Typically, in a #measles outbreak, the CDC would issue a Health Advisory Notice to inform the public & guide protective measures. But the current political climate has muted their response. Without clear, timely information, the measles outbreak in Texas risks spreading within the state & to others.

Resist disease! Keep your patients safe by wearing a mask.

one of these days ill make an about me pinned post i swear

it doesn't need a plot to be a meaningful piece of writing

To be disabled is almost always to be traumatized. It’s living in a body that can’t keep you safe. It’s doctors dismissing you. It’s family and friends abandoning you. It’s living in a society that doesn’t see your value. It’s constantly having to prove your life is worth living.

Pre Registration for Trans Grief Support Group closes TOMORROW!! at 5pm PST! make sure to pre register before then so you receive the join link!

Telehealth made therapy accessible after 10 yrs of suffering from a debilitating, deeply marginalized chronic illness. It makes medical care possible now that I can barely leave the house and helps me prove I’m still disabled when Social Security comes knocking. We cannot lose it.

Upon this response, JK burst into a million shards and a great wind scattered her unhappy soul beneath the arc of a newly formed rainbow.

We need more abled people to stick up for disabled people right now. They're going after accessibility, 504, IEPs, and RFK wants to put us in labor camps. Yet the ONLY people I ever see talking about this are also disabled.

They want us to be afraid. They want us to hesitate. They want us to fear their next move. Fuck that shit. We are just getting started fighting.

Someone in our buy nothing group has been making a bunch of lasagnes every weekend and just posting “they’re on the porch, come grab one”. No pressure, no judgement, you don’t have to reply. Just go grab food. It’s really lovely.

I keep seeing takes about Elon's Xs (whatever they call posts over there these days) with takes about how he's a bad manager or dumb because the assumption is that he actually believes what he's posting. Maybe. But here's how I make sense of everything he posts publicly: IT'S PROPAGANDA

This. I'm not defending Musk's intelligence (which is hugely overblown), but we must understand that he doesn't believe the things he says. His statements do not reflect his *analysis* or actual understanding of anything. He doesn't want to weaponize facts; he wants to make them irrelevant.

I celebrate the 80% of Germans who did not vote for the far right. Do not make 19.6% of German voters into "the" German people (again). "The" German people don't exist! The German population is diverse and divided, but voted overwhelmingly for liberal democratic parties. #BTW25 #GermanElection

i love u game developers

Cognitive behavioral therapy was a bust for me because it requires that one assumes everyone is doing their best at any particular moment. If that is the case, I must assume that thousands of people can't be better than bigots constantly fantasizing about doing harm to me.

Being disabled isn’t a failure. It’s not a moral failing either. It doesn’t make someone “less worthy”. And abled folk should have no moral or societal superiority. They’re just lucky… privileged… not better.

Telehealth provides accessibility for so many that would not otherwise be able to attend regular health visits. Denying telehealth visits is denying healthcare. 👩🏼‍💻🏥🧑🏽‍⚕️

The Texas measles outbreak has spread to New Mexico. Reminder that the measles vaccine is incredibly effective IF you get it. Respirators work well too! There’s never been a better time to mask up. My guide to respirators, the fall of public health and how to protect yourself & your community:

“Outside is free!” Says the white guy on a $5k mountain bike.

a haunted house, but it's just a bunch of zombies popping out and asking "how's your writing coming along?" "what's your book about?" "what if this writing thing doesn't work out?"

Honestly, every single politician makes me sick to my stomach right now. We're in the worst flu season in 15 years, with measles and tuberculosis outbreaks growing, and these people can't even bring themselves to talk about masks or air purifiers. How are they going to save anyone? They aren't.

I see a lot of people posting about higher education. To be clear, higher education collapsed last year when universities decided to ban masks at their commencement ceremonies and platform eugenicists. I don't think our kid will be going to college at all. She's going to be too busy foraging.

When people say, “Only disabled people will die from this,” know that could also mean YOU. You can become part of the disability community at any time and will inevitably become disabled unless you die early. Disability is a part of life. Be careful when you exclude us because it could be you next.

I know it can be frustrating to have a buddy who rarely accepts your invitations, even if you know it's because they're Going Through It™. But as that buddy, currently (and for a while now), I just want to emphasise how lucky I feel to have friends who don't give up on me. ❤️

Are you trans? Feeling deeply overwhelmed by the state of the world? Stuck constantly grieving the suffering of our community while numbing yourself to the daily grind to survive? Consider attending Trans Grief Support Group over Zoom this coming Wednesday! #transgender #trans

Hey everyone, if you live in California or Nevada and would like a disabled therapist that’s very familiar with ableism, you can schedule a free consultation with me to see if we’re a good fit at BrianaMills.com. 🫶🏻

You have to love it when the Judge implies that a homeless wino passed out in front of the courthouse could argue your case as well as you're doing now:
