Shouting into the followerless void about politics, Los Angeles, law, the greatest TV show ever (DS9), cinema, college sports, and other stuff. Grew up in Florida (one of the reddest counties in America), live in LA, been to a few other places as well.

Apparently some are finding out they've been fired by watching TV.

The next Star Trek movie will be the Borg going back in time to 2025 and realizing, "Nah, we don't have to do anything here, this will take care of itself."

There is no crime you can commit in this country that is greater than hurting the rich and politically connected. The gov't will make you pay, and take every chance it can get to humiliate you and hurt you and make you an example to the rest of the lesser-thans that they better not get out of line.

I'm still not entirely convinced that you're not all figments of my imagination as I enter my 10th year in a coma after having an accident in 2015.

If I thought the anonymously cited Justice Department spokesperson had an ounce of self-awareness, or disapproved of fascism in any way, she might not feel entirely great about making the "just follow orders" argument.

I'm not sure that was the best way to make that point on the record, but goodness gracious it had to have been fun.

"Under the impression I was off the cases" is not going to cut it. That's just not how it works. Lawyers that take their ethical duties seriously - not to mention their reputation - would have been concerned from the start about abiding by all conflicts rules and dotting the i's, crossing the t's.

Those guys make up a new lie every day and it's always the Biggest Scandal in History. This isn't even the most bizarre Very Big Deal of the Day for the morons. Mike Judge never needed to rely on an ugly evolution bit for Idiocracy, and he didn't need to send Luke Wilson 500 years into the future.

Been thinking a lot last few days about the array of tools Dem politicians have to engage in direct messaging to voters and to organize and drive grassroots action (if they care to). But they have so abused those tools for fundraising the last 10-15 yrs it all goes into spam folders and ignored.

Was thinking about all the failures, bad acts, mistakes, etc that have been made over the last 50+ years that have led us to this national self-destruction, and I couldn't help think of 'Links on the Chain' by Phil Ochs.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8F_...

It is a betrayal. Not just of our allies, partners, neighbors, but of our dearest friends. The emotional weight of this travesty should hit hard.

Canada and Mexico are our friends and the mad king of our nation has turned on them and is hurting them in our name. We should be furious not just for what he’s doing to us but also to what he’s doing to them.

Tulare water thing a microcosm of feeling I've had since Nov. I want to rage against them for supporting Trump, that his voters deserve all the pain they get. But this is a disaster for actually decent people. Water is precious. The food too important. And the economic disaster will not be confined.

Wait a second....Didn't China hack into this same OPM database? Hasn't Musk been currying favor with the Chinese - including a meeting just a couple weeks ago? And hasn't Musk been having regular contacts with Putin, who was reported to have asked Musk on one occasion to do favors for China?

I had - perhaps misguidedly - held out on canceling my LAT subscription in spite of the problems because it *can* and *should* serve a vital public service. This episode, however, is so dishonest that when piled on top of the rest of Soon-Shiong's garbage I can no longer justify holding on.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

He threw the federal gov't into complete chaos, threatened every gov't employee, and replaced competent officials with unqualified dipshits. Now President Dumbass insults the competence of air traffic controllers. What a leader! Don't know about you, but I'm going to avoid flying for a while.

the first fatal commercial plane crash in 16 years happened just days after Trump froze hiring of air traffic controllers that were already stretched thin

I was to give a talk at a big US Attorney's Office next week abt the complicity of German lawyers in the creation of the Nazi state. Yesterday the Justice Department cancelled it. Irony is dead. I've got an op/ed on this I'm looking to place. Help appreciated. #LawSky #Skystorians #Holocaust

Complete failure of leadership. Grow a pair, you useless fucking dipshits.

If there was an antichrist, it would be a serial adulterer that constantly and brazenly lies, engages in open corruption, appeals to selfishness and hatred, leads a flock of ever more obsequious political officials, and, despite all that, manages to convince many religious people he was sent by God.

The only thing that will bother me is not the Fox News "never happened" lie, or the GOP politician "I didn't see it" lie, it's the supposed "mainstream" news outlets lying about it - lying that there's a genuine debate about it, or as if it wasn't clear, or even that as if it wasn't intentional.

Trump could have "I am a scammer and I am corrupt" tattooed on his face and people would still claim to be surprised to find out he's a scammer and corrupt.

See why Fox News has so many sexual harassment issues? They apparently think they're working under workplace standards of the 40s & 50s. Of course to them Hegseth is a totally normal guy. What's so bad about a little alcoholism and abuse of women? Totally professional stuff for a Real Man!

We lionize ultra-wealthy entrepreneurs and listen to them on anything/everything. Education? Call up Bill Gates! Firefighting? What does Elon say? They only prove that successful people are not necessarily wise, and that people really successful in one thing can be dipshits on everything else.

It's only tricky when you try to make it tricky.

I want to roll my eyes, but I have to remember it's a large & incredibly dangerous cult. To throw the liberal neighbors into the fire to suffer and die, the leaders require followers that are morons or so unable to bear admitting they're being lied to and used they'll approve of appalling cruelty.

I swear to God if Freeman squibs it here I am going to take vengeance on the universe.

What the hell is McElroy talking about? Is he new to college football? Of course Notre Dame should take the TD if they break free. Choosing a FG over fear of a hail Mary is nuts.
