Mike Lee shouldn't just be expelled from Congress, he should be expelled from public life, just completely shunned by everyone he encounters like in that episode of The Twilight Zone. He is unfit to hold public office and his party should take action. The party won't, but it should.

I think this is a huge part of the problem. Cretins like Lee can basically wrap themselves in giant bubbles that feed them praise and shield them from any negative consequences of their words or actions.

It's mind-blowing how little attention this extraordinary statement has received. It's briefly mentioned in a couple news articles, but this MSNBC opinion piece is the only extended discussion of it I've seen: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Absolutely right.

The central delusion of pundits who desperately try to guilt people into coming back to Twitter: they genuinely seem to think we all secretly MISS Twitter and are merely hanging out over here out of a drab, self-flagellating sense of moral superiority no, we're here because Twitter sucks shit now

@jvl.bsky.social pointing out the obvious: YOU VOTED FOR THIS, MISSOURI. www.thebulwark.com/p/deporting-...

Cuts have consequences, illustrated. As seen on TV 📺

The Washington Examiner (the conservative news outlet) reports that Stephen Miller screamed at ICE officials: "What do you mean you're going after criminals? Why aren't you at Home Depot? Why aren't you at 7-Eleven?" Kinda blows up the narrative that they care about public safety.

Gotta say, I love seeing people in San Diego communities kicking ICE out and standing up for their neighbors. It's a beautiful thing.

I was in the chamber when he said this and everyone gasped audibly. Then they rationalized it because he was a powerful person bsky.app/profile/lemi...

Yes, you did vote to deport moms.

Fed Chair Powell graduation remarks to Princeton nod toward our current predicament: "Look around you. I urge you to take none of this for granted. When you look back in 50 years, you will want to know that you have done whatever it takes to preserve and strengthen our democracy."

i continue to think that one of the lasting images that will dog this administration for the next four years is likely to come from this parade

NEW with @simonkuper.bsky.social: The prevailing narrative around increased injuries and player workload in elite football is wrong. Players don’t play any more football than in the past. What has changed is a sharp rise in intensity of play. Not more minutes, but each minute exerts more load.

Researchers have known for decades that chimpanzees drum, but two new studies show that the animals drum to a distinct beat—which varies across their societies. Learn more: scim.ag/3YJ7R9r

I'm not asking you to get from point A to point B. I'm asking you to get some exercise.
