I still don't fully understand what was happening, but it had to do with the glory of the goats on the mountain and hair.

I'm not gifted in administration. But I've found myself in several administrative roles, so I'm doing my best. Short of showing up at their doorsteps with a laptop, how do I get people to look at their emails?

Congress, especially those who should know better: Imma need fewer silly tiktoks and more legislating.

We read Psalm 50 tonight in our Ash Wednesday service, and my gosh. What appropriate timing.

Transgenic is a word I probably hadn't ever heard or seen until last night. And I wouldn't have known what it meant without looking it up. But here's the thing:

Avoiding an awkward conversation by telling my group chat instead of the person I dreamed about last night.

Pet peeve: asking my opinion and then arguing with what I have to say.

I'm listening to a story about a village in Africa where a Christian music artist visited and a man told him that America is powerful because we are the greatest and most generous nation on Earth. That this village has a well with clean water because of America.

It is now almost 1am in Ukraine. When the war first began, a friend of mine who was serving in Poland said something along the lines of knowing she could rest because those of us living where it was still day were praying while they slept.

Walking into the Oval Office and treating your betters with such disrespect is a disgrace to your country. Trump and Vance should be ashamed.

A thing I learned this week: Jamaican Black Cake is really complicated and expensive to make. It better be delicious, and my kid better get a good grade. (No, I did not do it for him. But he's not a baker by any stretch, so he needed more help than either of us had anticipated.)

Who else has listened to the Pod Meets World episode? I need to talk to someone about this. I am so uncomfy.

What does one even put on a dating app these days? "Looking for someone with whom to endure the fall of Western Civilization?"

My daughter had her first experience of a man yelling at her out of a car window earlier this week. She's 12. And was walking the very short distance between her bus stop and my office. Not all men, of course. But all women. We've all experienced something like this.

The bags under my eyes today are brought to you by the 15 year old who started homework at 9:42 last night and brought my computer back to my room at 3:25 this morning. He went down an ADHD hyperfocus rabbit hole.

I haven't listened to the pod meets world episode yet because a) I want to finish the previous episode first, and b) I have to change my Spotify settings to allow explicit content.

On my lunch breaks, sometimes I turn on conservative talk radio so I can have a sense of what people are hearing from there. It always makes me angry, and I yell at my radio while I'm driving. Anger is their point, of course, but I don't think the kind of angry I get is what they're going for.

Dear Manager, This week I: licked a sparkplug sniffed a stinkbug painted daisies on a big red rubber ball bathed in yogurt went to Boston in the Fall.

I called and emailed all three of my representatives recently. Want to know which one responded? Cleo Fields, the freshman congressman from the newly drawn district that took me out of Mike Johnson's district.

Listening to NPR on the way to school this morning with my kiddo, and he was surprised at the report that Texas was considering a school voucher bill, thinking that was awfully progressive for a state like Texas.

When Russia invaded Ukraine three years ago, I was taking a class with a professor who was serving in Poland. We heard in real time what was going on from a source who was busy helping Ukranian refugees settle into temporary housing and find their loved ones.

@joshjohnsoncomedy.bsky.social is one of the best storytellers I've ever heard. Also, I think preachers need to watch more standup comedy. They can teach us a thing or three.

I know that this is a trend right now, but I absolutely cannot afford to take my younger self out for coffee. Nor can I handle the amount of sugar and dairy she puts in her coffee.

One week he ignores public health to confirm a wholly unqualified nominee for HHS, the next week he pushes back on anti-vaccine policies. One step forward, I guess. www.cassidy.senate.gov/newsroom/pre...

Bilingual friends, how accurate is ChatGPT in translating to Spanish? I just sent out an email after using it to translate, and I'm nervous it's not going to be right.

OMG, Marcello and Keenan fighting for their lives in the Scared Straight sketch. #snl50

Mulaney's love song to New York was *Chef's Kiss.*

It's been a busy day. So I'm now in my bed working on an assignment and watching the SNL Anniversary Special. If anyone's ever wondering what they have to compete with, it's this. And let me tell you, it's going to take a lot to top this.

For the life of me, I'll never understand not wanting to support your kids in becoming adults. They will make mistakes. They will make bad decisions. But if you let them, they'll become more than you ever could have imagined.
