It's hard to attend a school when you're at sea for long stretches of time, so D'khisa never formally got a proper education. Instead he absorbed all the knowledge he could from watching his peers and elders, even if it was all second-hand. That changes when he meets Stephanivien in Ishgard however.

In a previous iteration of D'khisa, there were two members of the Crystarium guard that he had.. a fling with, we'll say. It didn't last long, given that he eventually had to return to the Source and couldn't come back. Coming back, he (through the power of writing!) found their shards.
