What an exciting day. I checked the mailbox and the latest @mslexia.bsky.social magazine was waiting for me. It has travelled far across the oceans to reach me - and what a timely and wonderful surprise.

I'm very excited to have been featured in Black Coffee Poetry's latest collection, titled Vivid Memory. My poem is titled Justice Poetique blackcoffeepoetry.substack.com/i/159116591/... #poetry

Some days ideas, and words, seem to flow. Other days, like today, nothing seems to stimulate the cogs. I've been for a long walk, read the paper, meditated, but zilch. Here's to a far more productive tomorrow.

Betrothed to a Toxic Master A poem about the crude oil industry, its destruction of our planet, and how it is intertwined into so many products and items we use every single day. #ecopoetry #poetry

In Gerald Murnane's 'A Million Windows' there’s a line on page 1 that speaks such truth: “All our troubles arise from our being unwilling to keep to our room.” This book is a meditation of the space between silence and sound, fiction and non-fiction, of connections, and a long-held secret.

I’m currently reading A Million Windows, by Gerald Murnane. I’m only a few chapters in, and it is a very different style of writing than I am perhaps used to. What I do notice is the incredible intimacy that Gerald builds between the character’s voice and his audience.

There is nothing more grounding, indulgent or real than holding a physical book. Holding a book gifts you precious time - that book gives you permission to sit and read. Where do you source your books from? - Independent book stores - Amazon - Libraries - Second-hand shops

Good morning. We are open. 📖☕️

Witchy Poetry Two fabulous poetry collections I read recently: Constructing a Witch, by @helenivory.bsky.social and, WITCH, by @rebeccatamas.bsky.social Two very talented writers, who took me on a wonderful journey of what it is to be a woman. I was left feeling totally empowered.

Do you always finish reading a book? If not, why? What about books you’re not really getting in to - do you still feel obliged to read to the end? I’ve heard some people say that once you reach the page number that matches your age you can then stop reading if the book just doesn’t grab you.

I'm online, right now, watching the final event in 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence with @kimmoorepoet.bsky.social hosted today at the @manmetuni.bsky.social poetry library. It's 6am for me, here in the Southern Hemisphere. Got a coffee and so excited to be able to join online.
