THIS.

Nothing quite matches the unbridled joy of a toddler eating a donut.

Woke up from a dream mad at my own subconscious because it changed a big ol’ white oak from my childhood home to an apple tree. Like, why??

Loving my new pen rest/stand for my fountain pens and ink at work (the Uniball Signo 207 at the back is for carbon copy forms). It’s the small things!

Writing a folk song in my head (that will likely never see the light of day), and I just added the line, “We didn’t punch Hitler in the dick, so we’d have to obey these Nazi pricks!” May be my best work yet.

At a weird moment in my life, because I’m very excited about something coming down the pipeline, but it’s going to be three months and also democracy is burning, soooooo…

Am I the only one who finds it odd that the 50th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live is happening… on a Sunday?

Y’all, I bought some jeans at Costco the other day. Kirkland Brand. Ngl, these jeans are 🔥 🔥 🔥 #dadlife

Hot Take: Severance is good.

Was poking around some FOIA stuff and found out that Alabama doesn’t have a Freedom of Information Coalition. Kind of surprised someone like @warondumb.bsky.social hasn’t spearheaded that, seeing how behind we are in that regard (and how much people like him have done to highlight it).

At what point do they start openly calling Trump the Führer? There’s a non-zero chance that happens. Like, it would be a troll at first, and then they’d just embrace it.

I want a T-Shirt that just says in big block letters “GOVERNMENT SPENDING IS GOOD!”

I feel like I don’t always get super easy decisions when it comes to professional stuff, but… this decision I’m about to make kinda feels like a slam dunk. More info in a few weeks.

If they insist on calling you, always send a follow up email, that starts with, “As per our call at [timestamp],” and then list what was said. Not perfect, but much better than nothing.

CORPORATE DEI WEBINAR: If you meet someone from East Asia, you should avoid asking "So which kind are you?" JACUZZI DEALERSHIP OWNER: Well, that's it. Time to start the Fourth Reich.

As we all know, if you tweet about your crimes, they’re not illegal!

Unclear exactly what sensitive information is included, but might want to warm up the FERPA cannon, just in case.

Just got the laziest phishing attempt I’ve seen in a while. Clearly bought a template and didn’t think to change the information in the “[adjust]” tags to personalize. Like, I’m so glad you have a job available in the [adjust] industry, but I’m afraid I don’t know anything about it.

“Hey, sorry I’m late. My son started pooping.” “… Is there more to that story?” “Does it need more?”

Raisin BRAN!!

Dammit, I’m going to steal this.

Ok, so obviously it’s not my skin in the game, so like… you need to decide for yourself. BUT, if you’re a federal worker getting put on leave by Trump or ESPECIALLY Musk for doing your job, I think an appropriate response is to ignore it and force them to physically remove you from the building.

The thing about all these moves with Musk et al., is they’re deliberately doing the “forgiveness not permission” thing (though will never ask for forgiveness) because they know that once you break shit it’s so difficult to un-break it.

I know this is satire, but like… I want that recipe, please and thank you.

Had an argument with a coworker the other day. Told her what would happen is we’ll say we’re going to send all these people back, but either the countries wouldn’t take them or we’d say they’re too dangerous and can’t send them. Then they’d end up in a concentration camp.

I think, given a couple of conversations I had last night, it’d safe to say that admin at our little community college are FREAKING THE FUCK OUT right now about the grant freeze.

Thankfully my payments have stabilized over the last couple of months, but I just always think about how much of freelancing is being your own collections agent.
