#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 140: Only this superlative-abusing administration would toss around phrases like "most complex and secretive military operation in history" about an illegal act of war during the month of D-Day.

After we lost our Rowlett home in a tornado ~10 yrs ago, our Fort Worth-based homebuilder had the foundation poured by locals, then hired a crew of white guys from La, who showed up without proper equipment, took a 4hr lunch break, and stuck a few sticks to the foundation that wouldn't stand up.🧵1/3

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 137: How does anyone know what he's commanding? How often are they just guessing?

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 138: But do go on about "woke weirdness." 🙄

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 139: Packed SCOTUS for me but not for thee. (I know, out of order as I still haven't shared PTP 136 & 137 to bsky, but this whole court is out of order!)

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 136: We just visited the D-Day beaches and American Cemetery at Normandy a week ago. It wasn't just one day. It never is.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 132: Go so far on that you come out...the other side with more Pride, like the good vet Pete who actually makes America great.

On Memorial Day, we remember the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform and their families have made to preserve our freedom. May we always strive to honor the strength and resolve they’ve shown our country.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 131: The skies are appropriately angry where I am today. ⛈️ ⚡ #memorialday

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 130 (for yesterday): Takes one to know one.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 129: When Jim Henson was still living, I trusted him more than I did Trump. Still do.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 128: Enhancing the police state while attacking artists is fascism 101.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 127: The utter hypocrisy of defrauding democracy, misrepresenting one's own medical records, and defunding cancer research while decrying a lack of transparency about a private citizen's health condition is monstrous. 1/2

No. 126: My kid was glad to finish his final exam in Government class before the answer to at least one question literally changed the next day.🙄

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 125: For folks who love to hang the final judgment over other folks' heads a lot, their heads seem devoid of its description.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 124: Never forget that white supremacy is their goal, even when it involves bilking elderly white rural people and going against their own xenophobia.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 123: My house & neighborhood, a relatively new build on the city's fastest-growing edge, is definitely showing evidence, heaven help us. 🧵1/2

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 121: The decision-making is all done by non-experts & I think is aimed at proliferating what Foucault called "docile bodies" rather than allowing autonomy for any who then can resist, stand strong, and break the moldy hold of those who grasp for ever greater personal power.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 120: This one is yesterday's, but I could not bring myself to post about the Gulf of MEXICO's renaming by the US on Battle of Puebla day. The use of "symbolic" hides the fact that names impact national & even continental thinking. See: jerk at the WH during Carney's visit.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 119: Please, people, push back! No normalizing. (More El Mundo & Evening Standard, less Le Parisien.) I'm all for holy humor, but this ain't it.

I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 118: Never during my years there, when an alum was in the White House, did I expect this gentle mock of our old Ivy rivals to conjure calls for justice.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 117: This one was intended to be yesterday's, but Ground News analysis was slower in coming out than I expected. Yet another reminder that it's not about the guns or mental health & prevention for these people, just the money. 🧵1/2

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 116: (A day late, because my doggo needed surgical aftercare - see 🧵) Ironically also a campaign with dire warnings and speaking to people's (legit) fears.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 115: But surely he will be pardoned, right Pam? In light of the anti-Christian bias against him? Where's the MSM coverage? Faux News? Anyone?

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 114: Or maybe "the confines of a deal" is like "concepts of a plan." Either way, Slava Ukraini!

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 113: we want to stop child trafficking and abuse but not invest in the nationwide programs of volunteers (like my fellow re-sister anonymously quoted in image) who safeguard victims. Got it. Link to a script to call your reps & Reuters article in thread. 🧵1/3

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 112 for Friday: Resist the removal of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 111 for Thursday.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 110: They demand universities have ideological diversity while killing diversity initiatives. They want inclusion of the viewpoint that inclusion is bad.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 109: The toxic relationship Mother Earth is in, per Elle Cordova in the comments, should spur her kids to greater action than ever before. Pretend those toilet emojis are golden.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 107: Screed, not creed, is all they know.

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 106: Some traditions hold that Christ harrowed hell and liberated the dead between crucifixion and resurrection, after all. 🧵

#PlumbingTheParadoxes No. 105: Maybe the fact that "Good Friday" is itself a paradox confuses them?
