Yesterday I went to the La Brea Tar Pits. Just another reason to love Los Angeles. These asphalt seeps trapped prehistoric animals. To date, more than 3 million fossils have been collected, a truly staggering number! Pictured: mastodon, mammoth, saber toothed cat, asphalt seep.

@stevevladeck.bsky.social is brilliant, as always. Worth a read.

In visiting Berlin, you will come face to face with the horrors of the Nazis, as #Germany endeavors to remember and so to be better. I wonder what a US of the future will have to say about this period we are living now. #TravelAddicts #TravelBloggersCommunity theroyaltourblog.com/2022/11/02/b...

Amplifying this for those who want to read what’s happening as we speak.

Exactly this. I don’t care WHO the person is, or what he/she supposedly did. If one person doesn’t get due process, there is nothing preventing anyone from being denied due process.

Today, I got caught up in the cycle, and guys, it sucked. I let myself have a bit of despair, then sat on the couch with my partner, ice cream, and Ted Lasso, and now I’m back and ready to keep fighting.

Now does SCOTUS hold admin officials in contempt or do they cede the last vestiges of American democracy. It is that simple. Thumbing a nose at court orders means no democracy. Period.

NEW TODAY!! Every country has unique cultural items visitors should be aware of. Here is a list of some of those from Guatemala. Enjoy! #TravelAddicts #TravelBloggersCommunity #Guatemala theroyaltourblog.com/2025/04/14/1...

Disturbing @asklyft.bsky.social. Has anyone else experienced this? www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Passover Seder was so fun that we do it a second time. Have a good day everyone.

If you have a spare hour, this is a brilliant conversation between two incredibly intelligent people. It reinforces why I voted for @petebuttigieg.bsky.social last time and would gladly do so again. And Pete, if you are open to a conversation around tourism, I want to be that guy for you.

Happy Passover to all who celebrate!

A good Saturday morning coffee on a beautiful day in downtown Los Angeles

Do you like Victorian homes? Of course you do. Everyone likes them! Eureka, #California has some of the best, and one of the most famous. Check it out! #TravelBloggersCommunity #TravelAddicts #Architecture theroyaltourblog.com/2021/07/06/c...

For those who have been asking, here is an expert.

Tonight we are going to an immersive interactive theatrical experience set in Gertrude Stein’s salon in Paris. Actors will play the regular attendees. I’m not sure what to expect, but I’m excited for a cool date night. Also, cheers to Los Angeles for having such awesome culture!

Why anyone would wish to be a teacher in Florida (or a doctor, or a therapist, etc…) or another deep red state is beyond me. people.com/florida-teac...

Best live thread I’ve seen on the hearing in progress.

NEW TODAY!! #Guatemala City doesn’t have the best reputation, but if you have a day there, spend it visiting more Mayan ruins right under the city, and a museum with the largest Mayan artifact collection. Check it out! #TravelAddicts #TravelBloggersCommunity theroyaltourblog.com/2025/04/11/a...

Dear @gavinnewsom.bsky.social. California has an awesome opportunity for a silver lining with stories like this. Let’s create a partnership with scientists let go from NIH, NOAA, etc… Fund their research, the state owns a piece, and long run it is a money maker. Don’t waste brilliant minds

This is a great question, and I think I might write about it from my own personal perspective. I know that I go some places that others wouldn’t, and don’t go to some places that many others would. onemileatatime.com/insights/tra...
