Life continues to kick me in the testicles today but there are a few small wins: I washed and dried a load of laundry, I've had two cups of coffee, and as soon as this is posted, I'm gonna hop in the shower and get dressed. Simple things are the best things if we take time to look for them. ✌🏻

I've had a difficult 2025. I will be light on details because I've learned that saying too much online can lead to unintended consequences. But today,I choose to prioritize my fading mental health and remove myself, at least for today, from a toxic environment.

Without going too deep into the weeds, let me say that so far, this year has been trash. I've been dealt a few body blows (some self inflicted, others not), and of course this federal election and everything coming from the U.S. is adding to the pile.

This weekend, after a particularly nasty week, I realized that the best thing I can do for myself right now is wave the white flag.

I love to read. I hate short, superficial, click bait garbage. Give me long, thoughtful and well written pieces. And I love the feel of a book in my hands. #BookSky

Interesting... It's Saturday morning and my brain decided 5:37 was a reasonable wake up time. Okay, let's roll with it, I can always take a nap later. 🤷🏻

Mental health day.

I can't wait for the @buffalo-bills.bsky.social defence to break Diggs in half. #GoBills #BillsMafia

On my way to work yesterday I noticed that the Wayne Long reelection sign at the Millidge Avenue/Somerset Street intersection had already been vandalized, on the second day of the campaign. Don't people have anything better to do than destroy shit?

WTF

The phrase "Jehovah's Witness" triggers a 20 year old memory of being at my dealer's place rolling a joint when all of a sudden he yells "Duck!" and scampers under the table to avoid the two young JWs approaching the porch. I hide under a chair until they leave.

This week will have good things. Just look for them

Excuse me, I did not order this snow for today. What the hell?

I went out for a bit this evening and I was hungry but didn't want to buy anything so when I got back to my place at 10 o'clock I made a hamburger hash (hamburger, mashed potatoes, pork gravy seasoning and shredded cheddar cheese). Stoned me will be grateful sober me made food for later.

No kidding 😂

I've hidden from the sunshine long enough, it's time to get out of this house and enjoy the early spring weather. Let's try to find something good today. ✌🏻

TFW when you realize one of your borrowed library books is a David Sedaris essay collection.

I'm not one to get up and go to work right away. I need time to prepare for the evening so I sit in the Market Square atrium and read before catching the bus. Today I was prevented from sitting there by a women's business conference. I love the choice of colours in the logo. #Biinthewild

25 years ago I went to Texas for... Well, that's a story to be told another time. I stayed near Dallas and as a young adult from rural New Brunswick it was eye opening. Thanks to this twit and Trump I will never step foot in Texas again. Pity.

One of the benefits of being employed in one place for ten years is that you accumulate a lot of sick time as long as you don't abuse it. We have employees who have to borrow sick time because they've used up all the time allotted to them. Meanwhile I'm over here with my 720 sick time hours.
