This is thuggery from Trump and Vance, plain and simple. They are bullying the brave true patriot Zelensky into accepting a deal which effectively hands victory to Russia. Unless the UK and Europe step up, we are facing a betrayal of Ukraine.

It's never good when the richest person in the world and the worst person in the world are the same person.

Don't forget to support your local library! Now might be a great time to curl up with a book and decompress a bit.

I really wish some of you Googled "what is a tariff" BEFORE you voted.

Oh my gawd..Read the fucking room, Danielle.

One thing before tomorrow: Use your local libraries. Get your card. Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks. Recommend titles for purchase (usually online). Attend promoted activities. Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires. Tell your kids that libraries are good. They are. 📚

He's 3 minutes late! Doesn't count! Swear in Kamala.

Room full of rich, white people welcome new era of overt oligarchy from your corporate overlords. Watch 5 minutes of the inauguration and tell me he's going to be a "president for every american" with a straight face. You all been fucking PLAYED.

Kirkus gives a nice little review of Shark Girl! "A scaly new hero sure to save the day—and to endear herself to readers." Out in a month! www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews...

My personal DM vibe. If my players don't wonder what the hell is wrong with me at least once per session, I haven't done my job.

Is it too late to convince him that we are a small island nation in the South Pacific?

If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.

Never thought we'd have to explain this, but it's 2025, so here we are, I guess:

Spending the first day of the new year reading Playground by Richard Powers, napping, and listening to the strong southeastern wind gusts outside.

Get a library card—even if you don’t plan to use it. Your registration helps secure funding for libraries, keeping them open and thriving for the entire community. Every card counts!

My friends, 2025 is going to be rocky. But one thing I know for sure is that some incredible people put a huge amount of care, craft, love and rage into writing books that will soon be published that are going to help us make sense of this broken and beautiful world. 📚🧵

"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all." Arthur C. Clarke

Leaving Twitter was hard. What are my 400 porn bot followers going to do without my bi-monthly re-tweet of the Beaverton?

Highly recommend this very Irish literary novel. I will be referring to all my stuff (clothes, furniture, nick-knacks) as clobber from now on.

Is this the future of "collective" bargaining? Where one side doesn't have to bargain at all, just wait for the government to order union members back to work? Anyone who cares about worker's rights should be deeply disturbed by this. #cupw globalnews.ca/news/1091991...

I lied. The first thing I did to drastically improve my mental health was not diving into the creative intricacies of D&D. It was getting the hell off of Twitter/X. This place seems..(looks around at the butterfly wallpaper and lack of Elon Musk)... Nice.

I was in a pretty dark place in the weeks leading up to the US election. Instead of spiraling ever downward, I turned inward to a long neglected place of joy and creativity: Dungeons and Dragons. Creating worlds and collaborative stories for others to enjoy has been a great tonic for my soul.

I started a D&D club at my small, rural library. I haven't DM'd in 30 years. I have to say, learning 5e and worldbuilding has been an amazing experience. Fifteen people showed up for our first session. Nobody had any previous experience. So it's a one-eyed man leading the blind.
