The Isle of Man is a beautiful place, especially when it's sunny.

How exciting, I get to meet so many genuine celebrities today!

Arcade Club Bury is definitely one of the most fun places to be on Friday night in the Greater Manchester area. Four full floors of gaming. My little geek heart was very pleased.

As someone who likes to write introspective whingers, this is a good tip for me.

Last Tuesday, Katy Brand put this up on instagram and made me think about the problems of being an ally - in particular to women - so I wrote this thecosmicshamblesnetwork.substack.com/p/why-can-we...

Exciting delivery today. Here's my troop of tragic favourites from Dragon Age and Critical Role and the bestest boi I bought as a gift for my love. Incredible art by @solelle.bsky.social, go buy some!

Online orders are so helpful in this cold, wet, low-tourism month, you have no idea Hit us up on the-portal-bookshop.square.site (message me if something you want is out of stock, it's all manually added!) or uk.bookshop.org/shop/portalbookshop Also DM to join the email mailing list if you like ❤️

I've always loved the fact that the word 'sneeze' is the result of a historical accident. The original form, in the Middle Ages, was 'fnese', but someone mistook the 'f' for the long medieval 's' and wrote down 'sn-' instead. Fneezing sounds much more like a proper, nasal sneeze.

Dice goblin? Oh no, not yet. I need far more for that.

Stop Forcing A.I. into Fucking EVERYTHING!

CUSTOMER SERVICE: is there anything else i can do for you ME: you’ve been very helpful, can i have your name CS: sure, it’s janice JANICE: thank you : you’re welcome

My top things of 2024. It was a particularly good year for TV and gigs. Album: Fellowship - The Skies Above Eternity Game: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Film: Dune 2 TV: Fallout Gig: Testament/Kreator/Anthrax at O2 Apollo Manchester Book: Sebastien de Castell - Play of Shadows

My gaming year (not including Steam). I foresee a lot more Dragon Age in next year's round up too!

Ran my first D&D one shot yesterday for some of my best friends. Good fun was had and I learnt a lot for future games.

Getting in the Christmas spirits with Sonata Arctica. youtu.be/V0foN18heOQ?...

My brain is so helpful. I'm trying to write for one D&D one shot/campaign, one that is coming up very soon. However, I instead come up with lots of ideas for my other campaign, one where I have more time to prepare. Writer's self sabotage it is.

Be the change you wanna see. Wear a horse skeleton head this Christmas! youtu.be/9-96YTHPlgU?...

Etymology of the day: before a tapering piece of hanging ice was called an ‘icicle’ it was an ‘ickle’. In the Middle Ages people decided to add ‘ice’ for extra oomph and (tautologically) called it an ‘ice ickle’, until the two words eventually blended together.

The fact that writers can use various combinations of 26 letters to make me care about people who never existed and then destroy me emotionally by making them suffer is the weirdest, most unfair, and wonderful of magics

Such a beautiful day. Getting away from my desk for a walk in nature helps reset my brain.

Sorry, I'd love to be a productive member of society but I'm busy saving Thedas.
