one of the comments on reddit was "what is kik" and i got straight flashbacks to how this company caused the biggest supplychain meltdown of nodejs packages by pissing off a guy who owned left-pad, or was it just me.

crazy triage - *ext4* `readdir` optimizes by caching the entries in a hashed b-tree, with a specific "directory hash seed" - since all nodes in a nodepool are spun off a single "base image", thereby same ext4 partition parameters, the hash seed is the same. guess what happens when the seed changes
