There are few investments in home equipment better than a carpet washer. In related news, I'm never going to own a shedding animal. I'm pretty sure I just threw out half of the previous owner's cat worth of hair from just a 10x10ft area.

Move fast and break things is a good way to invent in newly established environments. But our republic is not new and it should in many ways be difficult to make radical changes. It protects us from terrible ideas, granted at the expense of not letting some good ideas happen.
