Monster Hunter Wilds is a very good video game (with some weird mechanics and design choices, even by MH standards!)

I will never agree with the 'I won't spoil the dev's reveal but here's what they'll reveal' school of journalism. I understand the challenges and needs behind it, but it frustrates me greatly.

Bob Ross. Portal. Fun. Demo in Steam Next Fest. I mean really, what's stopping you giving it a whirl?

I've been off social media for a while so, um, gaming update? I recently finished Metal Gear Solid V (again), ending my full lore series playthrough of the past few months. Quite a memorable ride playing most of those games for the first time, excited for the Snake Eater re-release later this year!

YouTube algorithm was like "hey, remember when Labo was such a fun and quirky new thing?" youtu.be/m6lY1GXTu5M?...

I quite liked the Switch 2 first look, Joy-Con design is nice (please have reliable sticks!) and it looks clean. Intrigued to see what they do in April, struck me as an effort to show as little as possible while getting it 'out there'. Pleased with the simple name + confirmed backward compatibility.

I see Nintendo released the low key 'stop leaking rubbish and no, it's not out in April' Switch 2 video. Good stuff.

Started Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD, interesting and really establishes the approach seen later in Phantom Pain. Bit weird when a big fight was about to start and it cut to 'continues in next mission' (oh, Kojima-san...), but otherwise good stuff so far!

It's Sunday, it's snowing, it's time to run around doing sidequests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

My GoTY? Probably Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, just a wonderful fun time that was perfect for me at the end of a busy year. It was a great year of games, but a very difficult one for the industry. Here's to 2025, and making the best of it that we can.

Finished Metal Gear Solid 4. Maybe it's because I've been playing the series for the first time in one big as-released run for the past few months, but I loved it. Appreciate there are flaws, but as someone well into its weird world it was an awesome experience.

Merry Christmas! Be good to yourself and others.

Had an amazing year with the @pmstudios.bsky.social team, and so exciting to see our app FUZE grow. To cap it all off the amazing @balbnis.bsky.social shipped me the insane Black Myth: Wukong special edition! I feel very fortunate to be on the journey.

Everyone backlog bustin' over the Holidays and here I am charging my 3DS.

Sudden urge to play Skyward Sword again, this track (and the cutscene it played over) is beautiful.

Easily overlooked thing in Okami HD on Switch, the use of rumble. 'HD Rumble', when used well, is pretty darn cool; in this game it even has a consistent gentle effect as you run - add the OLED screen and touchscreen brushstrokes and it's an excellent way to enjoy it.

Yes, it's time to play Okami again after the sequel announcement. Playing the HD release as handheld on the Switch OLED is particularly lovely.

Today I played The Punisher for the first time (in the Marvel vs Capcom collection on Switch) and oh my, it's actually extremely fun.

I got fancy headphones for this moment

Finished the story and can confirm that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a very, very good video game.

My niece makes some great gifts etc, definitely worth a look. I particularly like the 'Welshness' of some items (is that a real word 🤔😁)

I started my stationery business because I stopped teaching to stay home and care for my son. It has been an enormous learning curve. If you like geek and gaming stationery, come check out my little shop. Everything is handmade. botanicallucy.etsy.com

If you (think you) have been added to the Game Journos Turned Game Devs Starter Pack but no longer see yourself in there, that’s because @bsky.app is randomly dropping some people. Please let me know! go.bsky.app/Crg4Fi1

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is fab, fab fab fab. It's living in my head rent free, still early in the game but it is pure Indy. Put your feet up, get in a chill state of mind and play it, please play it.

Metal Gear Solid 3 beaten. Sometimes the game/level design was a bit scruffy in my view but the story, presentation and boss fights were outstanding. What a game, loving my series playthrough so far. I get it, Metal Gear fans... these games rock.

Was hoping to post a double celebration. Scotland really tried, but couldn't quite get over the line 😟🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 However, just finished watching the celebrations for Wales women going to the Euros for the first time ever. Last 15 mins were nerve racking as we defended the 2-1 lead Congratulations ladies 😀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👏

Cricket is available right now on #Xbox ! 💚Go make some best friends and cause some mischief! 🦗 @studiokumiho.bsky.social youtu.be/tVgDNNkRwKo?...

Metal Gear Solid 3 - 'be stealthy, they can't know you're here'. Get spotted, out comes the shotgun. Also it has a pretty massive plot hole (I think?) after the opening section. But heck, it's a fun time.

Went to the festive lights yesterday at the Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh, it was beautiful and it remains one of my favourite places.

Haven't yet eaten a Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, but it's early and I have TWO in my inventory. It'll sure be a moment.

Finished Metal Gear Solid 2, and now all I can think about is starting Metal Gear Solid 3.

It's a shame that this app is turning into a doomscroll; up to me to manage my timeline. But please, if you're going to fill feeds raging against today's viral thing-to-hate, research it for 30 seconds, realise the viral post is only half accurate and find something more constructive to post about.

I've enjoyed Metal Gear Solid 2 but good grief the button mashing segments can get in the bin!
