After spending 2 weeks in Scotland, I think Canadians have a lot in common with Scots. We both do not want to be taken over by our loud neighbour to the south. We both get shit done. We both make fantastic alcohol products. We both have gorgeous scenery and we're both funny as hell. 10/10 country.

'Thorn apple,' is one wood engraving of twenty by Gertrude Hermes for an anthology of writing of old Herbals in a 1932 book by Irene Gosse. Hermes was an artist of huge talent; her sculpture is reminiscent of work by Brancusi and Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. A vastly underrated artist.
