At some point I stopped being driven by excitement about the world and started being driven by fear until I could barely function without panicking and freezing up. I don't want to keep being like this, I want to get out of this pit that I'm in, but I don't know how to.

The thing about playing Magic: the Gathering is that sometimes you will play a card named something like "Lord of the Forsaken" and it will be absolutely useless. Then other times you will play something called "Rankle, Master of Pranks," and suddenly you will be the scariest geek at the table.

There's nothing as crushing as encountering a reddit thread from a year ago describing the problem you have. I think the reason that Apple TV isn't popular is because apple fundamentally doesn't want it to be.

Game which appears to be a cozy small-town life sim, but about 90 minutes in the town gets bombed, all the quirky NPCs you've been building hearts with die, and gameplay shifts to a "Pathologic" style survival sim. If anyone complains, the devs point out it was clearly marketed as "Ghibli inspired".

working with computers means never being totally sure if the music you're listening to sounds bad because of compression artifacts, bluetooth, glitches in the software in your earbuds, or any of a thousand other factors, when realistically it's probably the ketamine.

The other problem with build engine games, even Blood, is randomized drops. Whether or not I get a shotgun DRAMATICALLY changes my experience with a level and should not be left to chance!

Every so often I hear people nostalgically reminiscing about how good Duke Nukem 3D was so I go back and play it to see if I missed anything, but no, the movement still feels weird, the hitscanners still feel cheap on any higher difficulty, and the whole game just feels deeply jank.
