Should we treat our states more as petri dishes than as pieces of a total organism? The benefit of having state-wide laws and governments is that it allows us to test ideas. What happens if we legalize psychedelics, or assisted suicide? As long as the people in that state want to try it, let them.

Should the department of education provide lesson plans for public school teachers? What if the dept. of ed hired the best educators to create engaging lesson plans for American classrooms? It would provide lessons for core disciplines and a bi-partisan committee could approve the lessons.

Should the White House press secretary position be held by somebody whose views are more independent? If their job is to be a spokesperson for the positions and actions of the executive branch, hiring a partisan for the role may diminish their ability to convey those ideas to the other side.

Should there be a polling app that people treat as a civil duty? It's weird that we don't just KNOW some things. How many people think pot should be legal? How many people think assisted suicide should be legal? How are politicians supposed to represent people when they don't know this stuff?

Should we approach more things the way we approach chores? When I take out the trash, I’m not angry at it. I just know it needs to be done. I understand the task and handle it when the time comes. I’ve noticed many people approach more important tasks with anger, but I question this approach.

If nobody ever sees my posts, I'll consider that a success. Social media tends to promote divisive content. So if my posts go unread, I can continue holding the belief that my comments are perhaps too nuanced for the algorithms to monetize... Nuanced or boring. I'd take boring as well.

Despite any positive qualities Zuckerberg and Musk may have, many would agree that social interaction is not their strongest suit. Yet they own two of the largest social media platforms. There’s an irony in that, and perhaps a clue as to why today's online communication can be so unproductive.

Hello World. I see a lot of conflict, anxiety, distrust, and anger out there. I have thoughts on this. This is where I share those thoughts. I am open to criticism of my thoughts. We're all in it together ♥️
