I have been playing A LOT of video games since thanksgiving, here are my thoughts, and also a tierlist for UFO50 Please bring back the resurrection glitch in Grimstone my cowboys are dying throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/03/dan-...

The Killing is a weird show: the entire thing is Linden and Holder bumbling through their cases and making life worse for everyone they interact with, but there's no greater point being made about the inadequacies of policing. They're just extremely bad at their jobs.

Continuing the trend of cleaning up old drafts, here's volume 2 of Mothership miscellanea, in slush post form. MOSH SLOSH, if you will throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/02/moth...

The Youtube algorithm informed me today that there are //still//dudes out there wringing their hands over Blood in the Chocolate near on a decade later. Gods above and below have you nothing better to do than fling shit because you still want to have an Acceptable Target Sexuality

@pandatheist.bsky.social issued me a challenge: this is the result throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/02/d100...

I have delved headlong into @eviltrout.com's "The Roottrees are Dead", which is A++ good (I am also obliged to point at it like DiCaprio and go "Western PA mentioned!") I was not, however, expecting one of the characters to look exactly like someone I know. Wild coincidence.

Things fall apart, and yet slushpost remains throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/02/slus...

Lentil soup is cheap, filling, & tasty. Make a big pot of it and eat it through the week.

I have, in the midst of indescribable horrors, been fiddling away at a Proto-Indo-European conlang. This was a terrible idea, because PIE studies are an absolute trashfire, Wikipedia is just a contradictory mess decades behind the times and so help me if I see another *h₂ I have niche problems.

I hope you aren't sick of Elden Ring rambling, because here's part 4 in which I finally come up with a version of the timeline that I like that also includes Messmer throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/01/posi...

Bookpost series hits number 18, in which I learn that Clark Ashton Smith is a funny guy throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/01/book...

A new post! In which I continue my Elden Ring ramblings, get a bit silly, and also revel in somehow predicting the Nameless King's inclusion in Nightreign two months in advance as a joke. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/01/posi...

Starting off the year strong with me getting waaaaaaaay far into the linguistics weeds as I attempt to wring coherence from the orthographic nightmare endemic to Lovecraftiana. Also I find an etymology for Nyarlathotep throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2025/01/roma...

Time for my traditional year-end post. It wasn't a great year, but Caves of Qud hit 1.0 and that counts for something. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/12/2024...

Here's part 3 of my Delta Green campaign reports, featuring the library that my players had accumulated. We love a weird book. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/12/csc-...

New post! In which I have a great time with Tactical Breach Wizards I am beginning to think that my steam deck is to blame for the sharp drop off in blogging over the last year. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/12/dan-...

Two posts in a single week? In 2024? Inconceivable! My Delta Green campaign writeups continue, this time with the team's green box. Said it before, will say it forever: green boxes are the best thing in RPGs Also whoops, I guess it's a campaing now throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/11/csc-...

A year ago, in the before-times, I started up a Delta Green campaign. It went excellently, and I have finally gotten around to polishing up my notes and play reports for sharing. To start things off, here's the player's guide I gave people when we started. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/11/csc-...

As promised, my Elden Ring rambling continues. Perhaps it can give you a few minutes' distraction from the world. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/11/posi...

So on Discord I asked if there was a daily prompt list for the upcoming #mothershipmonth. @seanmccoy.bsky.social said "Whoa we should do that. You want to put the prompt list together??" I have compiled the list. Let it never be said that I am not easily swayed to make lists of things.

BEHOLD: 6000 words of positively unhinged Elden Ring theoryposting. There will be more. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/10/posi...

A new Mothership post today; time for some good ol' AI gods and a bit of Adrian Tchaikovsky throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/10/muir...

A new post, in which I continue my invocation of Kurt Vonnegut and have a lot of fun writing short descriptions of books that don't exist, so I can have all the fun of talking about books without having to actually write them. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/10/five...

Today in blogposting: I one-up Disney and save you both time and emotional investment by announcing Star Wars movies that do not and will never exist. You can't cancel that which has no potential! throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/09/star...

Time for some new Mothership material; this time, it's how to get a scenario framework out of the environment throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/08/mosh...

Golden Kamuy is extremely good and you should read it, plus some other books throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/08/book...

My entry in this month's Blog Carnival is about a puzzle I used in my Delta Green campaign last fall, and one of the handiest resources you could ever give your players. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/07/blog... In a drastic turn of events, I am posting about RPGs that I have actually played!

New post! Video game micro-reviews throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/07/dan-... BG3 is on hiatus until official mod support

When life gives you lemons, and it is always giving you lemons, turn them into Mothership pathces. We already have enough lemonade throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/07/moth...

This play report is basically the ideal version of Unicorn Meat.

Three patently obvious facts of the day Fact 1: Dungeon Meshi is the best D&D has ever been Fact 2: Darkest Dungeon 2 is kickass and solved every problem I had with the original Fact 3: OH GOD I HAVE TO BEAT MOHG BY FRIDAY WHAT THE HELL

Ye gods, what's this, a second post in a single week?! 'Tis Slush Post 15, y'all throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/06/slus...

Went on vacation! Had a lovely time in Ireland. Here are the highlights. throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/06/a-we...

A while ago I got to play Xenolanguage with @pandatheist.bsky.social - these are my thoughts, having more recently finished reading "Story of Your Life" throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2024/05/some...
