"There were seven of us in it – but I suddenly realised, within five years of it being taken, only three of us were still alive." For Metro, Sir Nick Partridge reflects on a visit to look back at photos in our archive.  www.metro.co.uk/2025/02/28/one-photo-reminded-many-people-lost-aids-22635895/

As #LGBTHistoryMonth ends, we remember Terry Higgins. He would have turned 80 this year. When Terry died there was no test for HIV. Now we can end new cases in the UK by 2030. We owe it to him and everyone we lost to turn that goal into reality. Photo courtesy Rupert Whitaker

On this day in 1989, Princess Diana visited Mildmay Hospital. She was welcome by Martin Johnson, a patient who was living with HIV.  Today we celebrate both Diana and Martin's courage in publicly challenging HIV stigma. Together we can end HIV stigma.

Last week in the House of Commons Wes Streeting marked National HIV Testing Week:  "I am determined this Government will deliver our commitment to end new transmissions of HIV by 2030."

Testing for HIV is quick, free and confidential. Last year, Terrence Higgins Trust provided more than 15,000 free and low-cost HIV tests across the UK. We need your help to do the same in 2025. Please donate today. https://www.tht.org.uk/?form=FUNJPXGXDWP Photo: Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock

Four years since It's a Sin! The show didn't just tell the devastating story of those we lost in the 1980s, it helped us shared the story of how much HIV has changed, driving up testing and awareness. We're still grateful.

A year ago today the DVLA stopped requiring people to tell them if they were living with HIV.  Before then drivers could be fined £1000 if they failed to mention that they "have AIDS". We're proud to have worked with the DVLA to make their guidance clear and ensure it didn't perpetuate HIV stigma.
