Please enjoy some spring blooms from my garden.

Walz: If you say you love freedom but you don't believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love is not freedom, it is privilege.

The US could have encouraged companies to bring manufacturing onshore with tax breaks and subsidies, but instead tariffed the global economy to death. Constantly lifting and reapplying the tariffs deters even companies who might have moved manufacturing, because they need economic certainty to plan.

This little lady, always photogenic, even when she's rolling in drugs.

That… wasn’t already a rule???

regular reminder that we can trace features of autism through folklore back to like, the prehistoric era. the fuck do you think ‘changelings’ were

Kind, decent, and compassionate, Pope Francis was badly out of step with contemporary western culture.

These guys - and I think LinkedIn has a lot to do with this - all think they're world historic geniuses when in fact they are actually barely functional human beings

“It's hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help. If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I'm a hypocrite." -Pope Francis

This #EarthDay2025 seems a good moment to share some Gerard Manley Hopkins: “What would the world be, once bereft Of wet and of wildness? Let them be left, O let them be left, wildness and wet; Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet”

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend. I had an interesting interview with Safety Detectives about steps we can take to make things better for the next generation of cyber defenders. I encourage you to check out the article, here: www.safetydetectives.com/blog/lesley-...

Two headlines in the New York Times today.

I wish jrr tolkien could do just a little bit of haunting just to fuck up those tech guys who keep naming their shitty companies after his lore

Magneto was right about everything.

Breast cancer diagnoses rose by over 300% between 1973 and 1992. Was there a breast cancer epidemic?! NO. Mammograms were implemented for screening in 1976. PREVALENCE is a function of being able to correctly diagnose something. This is also about autism.

As a person who has studied history, an autism registry is a five alarm fire.

NEW: U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared details about strikes in Yemen in a 2nd Signal group chat that included his wife - NYT

Much of the IT and cybersecurity infrastructure underpinning the US health system is in danger of a possible collapse following a purge of IT staff and leadership at the Dept. of Health and Human Services, four current and former agency workers tell WIRED.

Just spoke with my CDC sources. They were in tears. Budgets cut. RFJK has ordered them not to publicize bird flu symptoms in exposed workers. Not to test them. Not to speak. They know people are getting sick. And they’re being forced to stay silent. This is not just a cover-up. It's cruelty.

On this day 250 years ago in my home State of Massachusetts, our American patriot forebears fought the first battle of the American Revolution against the tyranny of a King, over #tariffs on tea.

Chris Van Hollen flying down to El Salvador and refusing to leave until he got in a room with Kilmar Abrego Garcia blows up every other “well what do you expect them to do?” defense for elected Democrats

They did, and you can read the letters written by Roman aristocrats living in Gaul who had basically given up on trying to fix anything and retreated to a comfortable self-exile on their vast estates

With these posts, they’ve made it essentially inarguable that they’re deliberately defying the Supreme Court.

I want to teach an honors course called “Every Regulation is Written in Blood” and just teach the young everything that had to be put in place to make the safe, clean American life they take for granted

I’m gonna hold everyone’s hand when I say this… Small talk is incredibly important for relationship & community building and refusing to even try to practice participating in it is harming your potential for connection

For reference, from the (9-0) Supreme Court order: "The [district court] order properly requires the Government to "facilitate" Abrego Garcia's release from custody in El Salvador and to ensure that his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to El Salvador."

well i am sure this administration will take strong action to make sure food safety is a top priority going forwa… hold on i am getting an update

“The Food and Drug Administration is drawing up plans that would end most of its routine food safety inspections work, multiple federal health officials tell CBS News, and effectively outsource this oversight to state and local authorities.” www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-foo...

This is why they have to let one normal person do all the events in the Olympics so that everybody at home on their couch understands the difference. 🤣

In today’s atmosphere, it’s obvious why a book warning of totalitarian censorship would be in the American Library Association’s list of most commonly challenged books

It's never about the science. It's always about having a legal basis for your fear and hatred of other people.

Terrifying News: A hepatitis C outbreak strikes Florida, and the U.S. government shuts down the only CDC lab capable of testing the samples. This isn’t a mistake it’s political negligence putting lives at risk. We need leaders who act now and prioritize health. We need accountability and answers.

the autistic curse of seeing the iceberg coming, being called hyperbolic and having everyone get mad at you when you point it out, and then watching them be shocked! when we crash into it. who could possibly have seen this coming?! no one predicted it except those people we don’t take seriously

If you did this you need to go to bed you're not built for 3AM at this age

RFK Jr. wants to eradicate autistic people and also has no idea what an autistic person is

RFK said Americans “addicted” to opioids, antidepressants, and stimulants should be sent to “wellness farms." Well, this country tried that once before. This is how it went. ⤵️

Puberty blockers are bad unless you... inject them into friend's autistic children to fix their injuries from vaccines. RFK Jr just put him in charge of finding out the cause of autism. substack.com/home/post/p-...

hope all the businesses who've been enjoying this month of tariffs also enjoy getting ransomware because they can't prioritize patching efficiently anymore

“Just calm down and let people enjoy chatgpt.” Sorry, no. I find it creepy that folks are treating a machine that mimics human speech as their friend / therapist. It is feeding you lies. It is destroying your thinking abilities. Shut it off. Talk to other humans. Go outside.

Long COVID is real. It’s common. It’s disabling millions. And no one talks about it—because if we looked too closely, we’d have to change So instead, we decided: Let people get sick. Let kids struggle. Let the vulnerable disappear. Let the numbers stop counting.
