When the next batshit crazy posting/press release/headline appears, I propose a public service hashtag (all caps) #SHINY-OBJECT-ALERT to help refocus on what they do, not what they say. Idea is to trigger a search / filter to identify the concurrent corrupt thing they are trying to distract from.
