Congratulations @suvikarjalainen.bsky.social for your achievement! Happy & proud of your work! And it was such a memorable day both scientifically and personally ❤️!

Connecting with ppl who share the same curiosity and mindset is the most rewarding part of academia. These interactions often also lead to insights for real-life impact. Thank you sharing your science and for inspiring discussions & future visions! @danlikesbrains.bsky.social @michaelgaebler.com

Years ago, I found a trusted companion on a journey to understand how our bodily signals influence the brain and mind. Next Friday marks a major milestone in this journey, as @suvikarjalainen.bsky.social defends her thesis. Looking forward the discussion with @michaelgaebler.com as the opponent!

Still time to apply (until 30th Jan)! Join our group to study the effects of cumulative head impacts on the brain in football. This is also a great project for those interested in leveraging MEG’s sensitivity for novel applications. More info below 👇 or contact me.

Looking forward to travelling to beautiful Jyväskylä next week to talk about embodied precision neuroscience. Fantastic line-up of speakers including @tahnee-engelen.bsky.social @tiinapa.bsky.social @suvikarjalainen.bsky.social @michaelgaebler.com and others!

...AND WE ARE HIRING: Postdoc for 12 months (+18 further months possible extension already funded) in beautiful Trento/Rovereto on the Dolomite Alps to work on EEG modeling with a brain stimulation perspective CVs to [email protected] PLEASE RT lavoraconnoi.unitn.it/en/research-...

Are you interested in #neuroimaging & cognitive #neuroscience research on brain health in #football? We are looking for a PhD student/researcher to join our team to study the effects of cumulative head impacts on brain with #MEG & #MRI. Apply by 30th January! #brainhealth #subconcussive

I’m not sure what kinds of training exist to improve attention (or focusing on the task at hand, which seems to be a challenge for children in my household), but this game could be a potential candidate. Just passed level 12 with my 10-year-old!

We're used to thinking of ourselves as being made up of parts - spatial parts. It's much harder to grasp that our *selves* are also made up of temporal parts. We don't see the whole self - it doesn't really even exist - in an instant.

Access to conceptual information in the #brain follows distinct pathway depending on the level of abstractness. Output of most enjoyable work w Lili Tian, the talented alumn of my group. Spatiotemporal dynamics of abstract concept processing: An MEG study www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Join @JKLBrainMind 4th Dec to learn about #neuroscience research at the University of Jyväskylä. Sessions introduce our longterm areas of excellence, current highlights & new directions. #lifespan #development, #learning, #sport, #wellbeing, #body-brain coupling & more tinyurl.com/yewhpeb6

Here we go with Dong Tang, starting his PhD defence on the #emotion in #language for 1st vs 2nd language, using both #EEG & behavioural measures. With Prof Riikka Möttönen serving as opponent we have interesting discussion ahead! #JKLBrainMind

Any suggestions how to start forming networks here? Love to follow discussions on #neuroscience, #body-#brain coupling, #plasticity, brain #development #biophysical #modeling #metascience (with a discipline agnostic twist)
