I wish I could be on Bluesky more often, but the news has been such a rollercoaster that it's best for my mental health to just stay away for now. I'm already on survival mode and just checking in on days like today spikes my anxiety.

Besides being an incredibly stupid thing to do, what do they mean by "permanent modern digital records"? Because unless they engraved everything in granite and put it in a mile deep bunker (and if so, I still don't fully trust it), permanent is over-promising.

The flipside of Minnesota Nice is an ice-cold, relentless vengeance that will abide for generations if necessary without hesitation or remorse

I was never a programmer but I know from my years in tech that this is batshit insane. I can't imagine the hubris to believe you can take legacy code of this magnitude and think you can rush rebuilding it without it crashing and burning.

These are the kinds of "rules" I would expect if you want to be a humorless asshole. Not eating soup in public? WTF is wrong with you, that shit is delicious. And if you're not man enough to enjoy a milkshake, then you should seriously reexamine your life.

What's the over/under on when we give Alaska back to the Russians?

No lies detected. I'm over here in St Paul like it's fucking Newark, NJ.

Never thought I'd fall down the economics on Blue sky rabbit hole, but here we are.

Issue 3 of Trollbreath Magazine is live! You can read all the non-fiction now, free at the website, including a new column called "Rogue Thoughts" by Christopher Mark Rose. Enjoy! magazine.trollbreath.com

Minnesota is Baja Canada.

THE RIVER HAS ROOTS, my next book, comes out on March 4! That's in 11 days! I'm going on a five-city US tour for it! All tour stops & ticket-booking deets here: us.macmillan.com/tours/amal-e...

My sister bought it! You all should, it's brilliant. @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social is on here.

Holy shit, this is the worst kit I've ever seen. Looks like someone took a paint roller on a shirt and called it a day. The kindest description I've seen is "the spilled milk". How you go from the starry night kit to this, I have no idea.

Looks like McConnell is having his Lee Atwater moment.

Pretty sad to see Senator Smith not run, but Peggy Flanagan is seriously good, fierce, and a champion for equality. I have no hesitations voting for her.

I don't think you can really call what Frodo and co. did a 'Fellowship'. None of those hobbits had to pass a grueling application progress or talk about Early Career Research goals. And only one of them submitted a book or paper at the end of it.

This is the exact reasoning Andrew Jackson used to justify resettlement that led to the Trail of Tears. www.gilderlehrman.org/history-reso...
