Jesus, just caught Matt Goss on #frontrow on the way home. Very quickly reminded of how wild that film was…

Have only recently got into John Cale, and I’m a bit obsessed. Delighted to see this coming out…

Got a new story in this. It’s called Debris, and it features a piece of space junk on the South Wales Coalfield… 5767.co.uk/product/spin...

Interesting set up this morning… #iconoclasmaschildsplay

This is very, very good…

New books…

Hard to believe that it’s been a whole year since ‘The Hours of Our Lady’ was pub'd by @salopress.bsky.social . Huge thanks to everyone that bought a copy, and those who said nice things about it! If you'd like to read it, it’s available from the Salo Press store! www.salopress.com/store/the-ho...

Contrary to this post, I have started 2025 with my first piece of short fiction in over a year. Sent it off this morning… 🤞

Went all the way to Hereford to watch Nosferatu this evening, then took a stroll past the cathedral…

Thanks to everyone who read Dark Play in 2024, and to those who reviewed it - the response has been a highlight of my year. Massive thanks to @salopress.bsky.social for publishing it. Once my PhD is done, I’ll have more weird on the way.

Last book of the year. Kathleen Jamie is always outstanding…

The view that inspired my story, The Visitor - which you can read here nation.cymru/culture/shor... - and from which, at times, you can see fog glaciers…

Tree of cormorants… 💀

Booked tickets to see Propagandhi in Amsterdam in May - first time since 2009, when they were touring this beast… m.youtube.com/watch?v=HJWB...

A ghost story for Christmas (sort of), if you fancy it… nation.cymru/culture/shor...

Windy in Wales…

Packing for the Christmas break…

In the xmas spirit of gratuitous self-promotion, here’s a reminder that I’ve also written 2 #chapbooks. For the price of a pint you could buy ‘Return’ from @nightjarpress.bsky.social , or ‘The Hours of Our Lady’ from @salopress.bsky.social and feel the warm glow of supporting great small publishers.

"Tim Cooke’s stories bleed originality. They are eye-opening, distinctive and often absurd, and they continue to surprise and delight." - @lmcknighthardy.bsky.social salopress.com

#The16DaysOf @nightjarpress.bsky.social #Day4 #TheJudgment Buildings, conversions & trauma porn opportunism. Absences. And an absence of absolution? The Women. The Questions. The Game. A controlled, spine-tingling #folkhorror that'll have you checking the fusebox. Not that it'll do you any good...

Wild Twin is one of Psychogeographic Review's Books of the Year. Thanks to @bobbyseal.bsky.social for including me in such great company.

It's @bobbyseal.bsky.social with his books of the year. psychogeographicreview.com/psychogeogra...

In good company there!

Whilst there's no seasonal discounts here, we'd like to give a shout-out to our ridiculously good bundle offers 🤩 You can get our poetry chapbooks for less than £4 each... Free postage, too 😏 salopress.com/store

Two stories! Thanks so much @datlow.bsky.social

Apologies for one last shameless plug… Still buzzing about this review of Dark Play by the brilliant Niall Griffiths. You can buy it here: salopress.com/store/dark-p... nation.cymru/culture/book...

Great book!

This is immense. All the excellent mundane drama of his autobiographical work, with a deeply weird edge. Can’t stop reading…

Hey kids, do you like the lonely isolation of the city? Do you love to read stuff that makes you feel cold and empty and like the world makes just a little less sense than it did before? Then ask your parents to add HUNTING BY THE RIVER to your Christmas list!

One of my favourite ever writers has reviewed my book and I might just retire on it. Thanks Niall Griffiths and @nation.cymru

Folk horror, rural noir, the new weird. A debut collection of oddball stories is all of these and more wp.me/p8Mk4U-ReJ

"What this collection does brilliantly is to rupture the diurnal; to show the deep oddness at the heart of domesticity, and, especially, at the core of parenthood..." salopress.com/store
