I don't *feel* especially old (a feeling partly helped by lacking many core adult skills) but this morning I had to explain to my daughter what a typewriter was & admit I did my 6th form typing classes on one.

This has gotta be one of the top five coolest covers any book has ever had.

Got to Day 12 in Blue Prince & I finally understand what everyone is raving about. The game really opens up once you can draft the Goon Cave

"Morning Has Broken" nice passive voice man. Who broke it

Writing about autism & ADHD, I'm conscious of this uncanniness where I'm trying to describe what makes us different, but also it's the only way of thinking & existing I've ever known. I can only infer a hypothetical 'normal' from observing friends & consuming media. From my perspective, I'm normal.

Weekend goals: set. Thanks @timclare.bsky.social! 🎲✂️ #boardgames

Also, my targeted ads just tried to sell me this: the most cursed piece of decor conceivable. A framed metal poster of a Jordan Peterson quotation that somehow forces you to hear it in his voice. Put it up over your bed! He can glower over you while you never have sex again

Falling asleep at my desk because I accidentally stayed up past my bedtime playing Blue Prince last night. I quite like it! If you'd said to me 'Tim, would you like to play Myst mixed with Castles of Mad King Ludwig' I'd have said 'no, I would not, how did you get in my house' but it's interesting.

If you haven't read any Erving Goffman, I really recommend his work. His work straddles philosophy & sociology & he's just very readable & thought-provoking. Do I agree with everything he says? I do not. But I feel enriched having read it.

Having just watched the new episode of @gamechangershow.bsky.social and recieved the Game Changers book by @timclare.bsky.social appears that I can't resist consuming anything with Game Changer in the title.

For this small sum I will gladly stare directly into your pupils while asking an appropriate amount of questions about your new patio

Spoiler: the answer is generation upon generation of autistic people fucking

Another autism test example: participants were asked how Rowan Atkinson's character feels at the end of the advert. If they responded 'pleased' or 'hot', that was judged as evidence of impaired Theory of Mind. (the correct answer, the testers say, is 'self-satisfied') www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEDC...

Why does he say 'hello, French polishers?' The business is 'Lawrence Mitchell: French Polisher & Antique Restorations'. So he might plausibly say 'hello, is that Lawrence Mitchell?' or Mr Mitchell might answer 'hello, French polishers?' It's like my phoning a takeaway & saying 'hello, pizza chefs?'
