My parents asked me to start digging my old stuff out of their attic and I’ve found so much gold, some bittersweet memories, and a ton of interesting political debris. Need to figure out what to do with it, but I’m gonna thread some of it here as I work through it

Big clouds forming ahead. The US is going to get involved on brutalizing Iran -- nakedly for no reason. And Trump gave all the counterterrorism jobs to 10 year olds. So there'll be asymmetric violence, innocent people will be killed, and Trump will build his dictatorship on their bodies.

Humbly, I feel like even running analysis on this as a policy action is a misstep. There's nothing happening here except Benjamin Netanyahu trying to keep the ball bouncing in the most cynical way imaginable. American politicians will let him drag them down this path at their own humiliation.

We leftists should redefine accountability and discipline as things it is normal to do yourself, not things you force upon someone else. Not how we tend to think of it. And sure sometimes you gotta hold someone to account, but it should be *rare* because we are all holding OURSELVES to account.

Liberals really need to get their shit together on immigration. This issue isn't going anywhere. We're looking at a world full of climate refugees and migrants, indefinitely. Battening down the hatches is an absurd strategy that should be ridiculed for being stupid. We should get to cooking instead.
