This is the way: France, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark, plus the heads of NATO, the European Commission and Council, widening to 19 nations including Canada and non-EU countries such as Norway and Iceland

The resignation of a federal employee must be voluntary. I highly doubt failure to respond to this email---sent on a Saturday---would be understood by any court to be a voluntary resignation.

here @ianhanomansing.bsky.social a suggested topic

Should women have the vote? Tune in next week as Cross Country Checkup invites a bunch a men on the show to discuss.

Let’s be clear. Healthcare is a human right. It is a foundation, like education that builds and sustains society. It should never be about profit and it never generates revenue. It’s about a patient’s needs & not a shareholder’s return. Anyone who tells you otherwise is stealing.

just revoke the operating license by all allies of Ukraine.

France is the only Nato member that can't be pushed around by the U.S. The French never bought American weapons. They produce their own. Much of what happens in the coming months will depend on the French. So you better hope they have the courage to do the right thing.

A private surgical company at the heart of allegations the Alberta government interfered to secure overpriced medical contracts was billing taxpayers more than twice as much per procedure than it would cost in a public hospital, according to AHS documents. globalnews.ca/news/1103041... #ABpoli

Almost like countries other than Canada are diverting $$ away from the USA.

Spot the European arms manufacturer and the American one

As Canada considers trumps tariffs much chatter about how we can expand our export of raw materials elsewhere (pipelines are hot) but I see little about how we can increase the value added sectors to export products vs raw resources.

@mark-carney.bsky.social Spread the good news. @stevenguilbeault.bsky.social

He nails it.

which .... pretty much guarantees the Alberta government under Danielle Smith will invest is these sucking technologies. "There is no technology too expensive or too bad if it allows me to own the Libs."

Said Bardella "I like to keep my support for the Nazi view less public to avoid scaring people. wait until we form government"

Anyone else see that Cybertruck stuck in the snow while the Honda Fit drives right past it? Pretty much sums up America vs rest of the world.

Precisely. Maybe start with Alaska? Previously owned by Russia. Seems pretty logical.

We all recall when the Premier of Ontario did this -- pulled the stations out. Only to crawl down off the high horse when he realized the heart of his province was auto manufacturing and that was moving increasingly to electric.

This is astounding. It shows Albertans paid double - sometimes triple! - for surgeries at private surgical facilities connected to friends of the UCP than through AHS. And the Premier’s staff & Health Minister allegedly pressured & then fired the CEO of AHS when she asked questions about them.

Price comparisons of surgeries done at private facilities vs AHS costs, courtesy of the new documents obtained by the Globe and Mail. Given what has been going on within the public health care system, especially the ongoing closures in rural Alberta, this data is horrifying.

Why this flu season is so severe www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-healt... "Low vaccination rates may also be at play..." "Experts suggest misinformation about vaccines and post-COVID-19 vaccine fatigue may be contributing factors..."

Twitter is now an American right wing disinformation machine interfering in global politics. Your participation in it, is collaboration and nothing less.

How odd. My climate scientist colleagues and I have files full of actual death threats (as opposed to the colorful comments described here) and the Justice Department has never sent a letter to our attackers following up.

A day after the premier accused AHS of "footdragging"on privatization of surgical services, AHS fires back with proof that MHCare was the one delaying -- taking money for nothing. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/alber...

So it is less than a year ago that Premier Smith stood with others to cheer on the establishment of a hydrogen refuelling network in Alberta. The big industrial supporter -- Nikola Motors -- declared bankruptcy this week. Hydrogen is NOT going to be viable for transportation by car/truck.

So this new fast train announcement, I get connecting Toronto - Ottawa - Montreal. But does it make any sense (other than political) to go to Quebec City?? Wouldn't there be much much more traffic to go west to Kitchener/Waterloo, London etc.

Further evidence that the USA is not reliable -- we have to accept they are no longer our family or our friends but they are not yet necessarily foes. Perhaps they are "fence sitters" where they may sometimes act as friends and sometimes as foes.

Did you see this @blakeshaffer.bsky.social ? Any thoughts on what a deep US recession means to Canada given the cause of the US event is a self inflicted wound.

Precisely. Even if we could trust DOGE's account of the 'savings', the *costs* of these cuts is probably approaching $1 trillion in the medium term.

This is worthy of further sharing .... even while it is already quite viral. IF the US drops into a recession, what is the impact on Canada?? Given the cause of this recession, perhaps we don't fully follow along??

Remember when you were in school and you read "The Diary of Anne Frank" and you thought of all the things you would have done to stop the Nazis? Do those things now.
