When I was growing up we had entertainment icons like Michael Palin doing highly researched travel docos, Tony Robinson hosting time team, Stephen Fry hosting QI, Shows like mythbusters in the mainstream, intellectualism was almost cool. Is that still a thing?

Any politician who seriously cares about the future of this country (at least, a future which involves democracy) should be pushing for literacy programs at all age levels. Low literacy and anti-intellectualism are gasoline on the fire of fascism. Source: National Literacy Institute

It’s hard to know what bluesky is for. The idealist wants it to be a place of positivity but what I more feel the want to share is my frustration at the negative. I seek an understanding voice to work out these things with. That is a form of positivity I guess but I’m still torn

It’s frustrating to feel that in an age of misinformation if you want real information to be taken seriously you need to provide it at such a higher level. The liars can say whatever they want but the teachers must be 1000% accurate or they are somehow the problem.
