Boston has an Asian-American woman mayor and Black police chief. Any guess why Trump, Homan, and their band of racists want to target us?

I’m old enough to remember when firing people because they’re a woman or Black was not considered anti-DEI. It was just called discrimination and bigotry.

We need to see this in every district in the country. As members of the House and Senate travel through their districts, they should be challenged and forced to answer for their dereliction of duty in the face of The Trump/Musk's growing authoritarianism

The impact of USAID cuts will be devastating in so many of the countries where I’ve worked. The irresponsible sudden nature of this cancellation of funds will fuel poverty and illness.

Somebody should tell this yahoo that you should not smile and smirk when you’re talking about firing people, especially when you’re boldly lying with claims that people are only being fired because of bad performance.

AS if the world couldn't get any crappier... Found out this morning that Starbucks has discontinued my go-to pastry, the glazed donut! They've also discontinued my back up, the scone. The rest of their pastries frankly suck. 2025 is just not a good year.

The only thing surprising about Trump’s pro-Putin stance is that people are surprised. Trump has been consistent about his anti-Ukraine, anti-democratic sentiments. People just didn’t want to believe an American leader could be such a traitor.

Imagine living in a country where former presidents are not above the law.

How exactly is devastating our scientific community, one of the greatest contributors to US prosperity (think biotech, pharma, and other drivers of our modern economy) and improved lifestyle (medicine, tech), supposed to make America great? These MAGA idiots are so shortsighted.

I have papers to grade today and decided that sitting on the couch in front of a warm fire on a frigid morning would put me in a better mood for it.

They’re making the country better and better!!

Can someone who understands brain science explain something to me? I tried to play a Debussy piano piece I’d memorized in high school using sheet music and kept flubbing. Then when I just played faster without thinking about it I could play it. Why?

Here's a clip of me on Focus on Africa talking about the war in the Eastern Congo. (Note to self: Look straight into the camera the entire time so that you don't look so shifty eyed!)

Useful op ed by the Post. Refugee law clearly defines the threats that make individuals eligible for asylum, and white South Africans are not under realistic threat of persecution. This Trump policy is nothing but racism. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

About to go on, if anyone cares to listen.

I'll be on Focus on Africa today at 12:30 Boston time (5:30 London time) talking about the M23 advances in Eastern Congo.

The callous treatment of USAID employees at the behest of the world’s richest man is nothing short of cruel. What kind of sickos can treat loyal government workers so poorly and still imagine themselves “patriots”? Musk and Trump are traitors.

I’m really struggling to understand where this leftist identity extremism folks like Chait denounce is found. I’m at a university, deeply involved in DEI work, yet I’m also a liberal surrounded by people similarly committed to dialogue and learning.

If anyone should happen to have a hankering for Girl Scout Cookies, my daughter is selling. They can be shipped anywhere in the US.

I was never that great at economics. How are firing lots of people and drastically cutting government spending supposed to jump start the economy? Won't that just add to unemployment? And won't the tariffs add to inflation? Is the goal stagflation? I thought that was a bad thing...
