In July 2024, research published in the medical journal The Lancet estimated 186,000 deaths in Gaza, Dr Abu-Sittah estimates 300,000 two days ago. They are not just numbers, but people, families, infants.

Remember when Israel bombed ONE Gaza hospital causing outrage & Israeli Govt declared “We don’t bomb hospitals it was actually Hamas.” UN report confirms Israel has bombed 110 hospitals & medical centers & Hamas was in ZERO of them. But it’s not genocide😐 www.qasimrashid.com/p/un-commiss...

If you’re a nondeaf scholar who researches deaf people and signed languages, it’s important to be open about your positionality & to be open to critical feedback from deaf scholars and deaf community members. Think of feedback as care for more holistic & ethical research, not as gatekeeping 🐦 🐦

my Bluesky handle is now @timothyyloh.com!

Sharing a recent article by @timloh.bsky.social: “An anthropologist argues that ending Israel’s war on Gaza and occupation of Palestine is a matter of disability justice.” #disabilityanthropology #disabilityjustice

I’m sure there are more folks out there who I haven’t connected with yet in disability anthropology or who use ethnographic approaches to critical disability studies. Send me a note if you’d like to be added! ❤️ #disability #anthropology #ethnography #CriticalDisabilityStudies

Starter pack for sociolinguistics. Let me know if you’d like to be added! go.bsky.app/SN3TdzY

I started STS scholars (broadly construed) starter pack! It's VERY incomplete! I wasn’t sure if there was an easier way to do this than just going through my followers & adding people. Probably missed lots of folks! Please let me know who I missed or if you'd like to be added. go.bsky.app/H4NcX46

We asked Palestinians in Gaza to share their last memories before the genocide. This is what they said. https://buff.ly/48my0i5 #Palestine #Israel

Here's a start at a Starter Pack for #medanthro, broadly defined. Some of these folks might not call themselves medical anthropologists, but if they study health, healing systems, or human biology in context, I've included them. Let me know who else should be added to the list. #anthrosky

I’ve tried to put together a non-exhaustive list of anthropologists on bluesky together. Did I miss anyone? Should I add you? go.bsky.app/GYEM3YK #anthropology #anthrosky
