There is an extreme level of violence in Port-au-Prince as armed groups fight for control. Only two trauma hospitals are still functioning and they are overloaded.

The loss of services supported by USAID will affect millions of the world’s most vulnerable people. Here's our statement on how the freeze of US foreign aid assistance will result in humanitarian disaster: www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/freez...

We urge the US government to immediately resume funding of critical humanitarian and health aid

Far from global attention, a devastating war is raging in Sudan. Today an attack struck a market in the city of Omdurman, causing mass casualties among men, women and children. MSF staff witnessed the devastation and spoke out. We are supporting the hospital treating the wounded.

The extraordinary endTB trial offers a path to much shorter and less toxic curative therapy for drug resistant tuberculosis. This is huge news. Hopefully we'll see these regimens adopted quickly, especially now that bedaquiline is more affordable. So grateful to all the researchers involved.

Americans have always absurdly overestimated the cost and underestimated the value of foreign assistance. And humanitarian relief aid is a sliver within the sliver that aid represents in the national budget

"No one is exempt from violence here, but the impact on women and girls is disproportionate." An eye-opening look at the humanitarian crisis in Haiti from @msf.ca head of mission Diana Manilla Arroyo. @newhumanitarian.bsky.social www.thenewhumanitarian.org/interview/20...

Welcoming @doctorswithoutborders.org to Bluesky!

Miami's WLRN speaks with @msf.ca about sexual violence in Haiti and the need to do more for survivors www.wlrn.org/americas/202...

Ugh, someone is impersonating me on BlueSky. Here's a screengrab of the account - note the extra "m" after "tim". I've reported this through BlueSky and invite you to report it too.

#DRCongo: Since this morning, there has been intense gunfire in the immediate vicinity of the General Referral Hospital (HGR) in #Masisi, North Kivu. Two civilians who were in front of the hospital have been hit, one of whom was fatally wounded.

Colleagues with @MSF.ca in Haiti provide care every day to survivors of sexual violence. Over the course of a year, they see more than 4,000 survivors, many of whom have practical needs as well. Sharing a story that highlights this crisis: www.youtube.com/shorts/Kdvxa...

Another troubling event in the war in Sudan: @msf.ca suspends all its medical activities at a Khartoum hospital after repeated attacks. Health needs remain very high, including pediatric and maternal patients, malnutrition and infectious diseases. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/sudan...

“Words cannot describe this kind of thing,” said Mohamed Ahmed, deputy head of @msf.ca in Sudan, recalling children who arrived in his clinic in Gedaref state after fleeing multiple times during the past 20+ months of war. “It’s really a feeling of desperation.” www.nytimes.com/2025/01/07/w...

Stories of survival give us hope. “As a physician anywhere, we get touched by the lives of the patients that we care for.” Dr. Gillian Burkhardt of @msf.ca reflects on the fight against maternal mortality in Sudan’s war-torn Darfur region. www.kevinmdpodcast.com/how-conflict...

Some (qualified) good news from Haiti. @msf.ca is partially restarting medical activities after suspending them for 3 weeks because of threats. Ambulances are still at high risk and we haven't been able to restart them yet. Hoping for better days ahead. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/haiti...

A devastating and detailed look at how the world's famine response is failing in Sudan.

A malnutrition crisis has grown in northern Nigeria for the past two years, new survey data from @msf.ca is showing - highlighting the consequences of climate, conflict and economic turmoil for people on the edge of survival. www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/malnu...

People fleeing war in Sudan are going hungry - in Chad, it's not a question of whether aid agencies can reach them (we can), it's a question of resources. A rare look at the crisis: apnews.com/article/suda... @asssociatedpress.bsky.social @smednick.bsky.social @msf.ca

Doctors Without Borders is raising the alarm about an ongoing attack on Sudan's largest displacement camp, where people already face catastrophic malnutrition. More attention and pressure is needed to halt these attacks. Spread the word: www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/sudan... @msf.ca
