When will they all learn that when you're dealing with a pathological narcissist, loyalty is measured in the last 10 minutes. I've known such as that. There is no safety. So fight. Tech’s Trump Whisperer, Tim Cook, Goes Quiet as His Influence Fades www.nytimes.com/2025/05/26/t...

VCU graduates walk out on wanna-be MAGA Youngkin's commencement speech. Congratulations! @jonbecker.bsky.social and the rest of the VCU faculty taught them well.

Does anyone remember when the Times would do some real journalism and run front-page stories every day detailing the abuses for their readers? Nostalgic times.

Just left National AP on the Metro blue line and the recorded voice says next stop is Capitol South. 😳 That’s funny for anyone who lives in the DC area.

The 145% tariff already did its damage From the invaluable Planet Money (support NPR!), a reminder that real people are impacted by economic decisions. Especially incredibly stupid ones.

Trump’s actions are pushing thousands of experts to flee government Who needs experts? We have the wisdom of the crowd (mob) and Elon's gut feelings. What could possibly go wrong? :-/

The Swedish entry at Eurovision is giving off major Devo vibes. Which is a very good thing. Sauna.

If you’re watching Eurovision and don’t know what to make of the contest, read the in-depth analysis by NPR’s Glen Weldon. Insightful and very funny.

Price tag for Trump’s military parade could reach $45 million "Service members will be housed in the Agriculture Department and General Services Administration buildings for days." We're still looking for the bottom of this cesspool.

Watching the Eurovision song contest as an American baby boomer is a very odd experience. Mostly not my kind of music and I don't understand most of the lyrics but it's still a whole lot of fun.

According to Bloomberg (hardly a radical leftist news source): “Xi Jinping’s decision to stand his ground against Donald Trump could hardly have gone any better for the Chinese leader.” So much for “our” master deal maker.

A 25% cut in federal spending on research and development could blow a $1 trillion hole in America's GDP Basic scientific research benefits the country far beyond what it costs. But it's a long term return that requires leaders with vision that extends far beyond the next election.

Bend at the knee; get kneecapped. When will they learn there is no dealing with a tyrant? The Trump administration has presented Columbia University with a proposal for a consent decree www.wsj.com/us-news/educ...

Commanders owner envisions 1 million fans at ’27 NFL draft on the Mall It appears that, instead of simply ignoring the NFL draft at home, in 2027 I'll be ignoring it from somewhere else.

Your annual reminder that Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexican Independence Day (that’s Sept 16). This “holiday” is far more popular in the US than Mexico, another boost to the beer industry and avocado growers. Although, I don’t need a special occasion to make guacamole. :)

One more way crypto is a scam…

US economy risks losing billions as travel demand weakens A combo of people not wanting to visit the US and those in the US waiting to see just how much tariffs and clueless government cuts are going cost them.

A reminder. Presidents often get too much credit - and blame - for what happens in the economy. This one really is all Trump

Larry David: My Dinner With Adolf This essay is amusing enough. What’s really funny are many of the commentators who don’t get that satire is a matter of personal taste and not supposed to be 100% accurate.

Everything about crypto is a fraud. More smoke and mirrors to help the super wealthy suck even more money from the clueless. Of which there are far too many.
